Kent was punctual, friendly and easy to work with. No BS.  He was much less expensive than the quote given to me by one of the big local companies, and actually arrived at the time that we agreed upon, unlike another company that I had tried to use for this work.
Kent was recommended to me by my boss, who hired him after a recommendation from another co-worker. I recommend him too!

Kent responds to calls very quickly.
Not on this repair but last summer I had a small fire in my water heater. I called him out and he replaced it and I just asked him to take it away. Next thing I knew I got a letter in the mail from him with a gift card from home depot for $560. He had realized it was a Home Depot water heater and he took it back and got a refund for me. Without asking. He just did that all on his own and in all honesty he could have kept it forever and I would have never known the difference. I think that's exceptional.

Kent was very professional and scheduled a same day appointment. He found that he was going to be available earlier so he called and arranged to come over 90 minutes earlier. Very good service.

He is always punctual, respectful and professional. Mr. Mortensen is a quiet man by nature but this in no way deters his communication ability. We have found him to be skillful and ethical. He guarantees his work. I have no hesitation in calling for plumbing problems.

On the many job I have had Kent do, he always completes the job quickly. I had him replace a water heater after mine started leaking. I called him and he was out the same morning I called with a replacement gas water heater. He installed it in about an hour and had no problems. Probaly wasn't the cheapest I could have had it done but yhink I got a quality job.

Kent was pleasant. He was able to get the water heater replaced the same day that we spoke. After he left, I noticed that he did not change the shutoff valve, used the old TP valve, and flattened one of the flex lines reducing its capacity. Since they tend to freeze or leak as they get older, a new shutoff valve is normally included with a water heater replacement. I have never had a water heater replaced where the TP valve was not replaced or a flex was flattened and not replaced. There was a TP valve provided with the heater. He just chose not to use it. As a licensed plumber, I expected a high quality, professional job. I do not feel that I received one.

We had a kitchen sink with a plugged drain. My husband tried plunging, opening the trap, putting a snake down the line. We moved out our stove so we could get to the clean-out beside the sink. We couldn't find the plug, but when we phoned Kent, he came over within 30 minutes and the job was done in about 20 minutes. He got right to work.
Kent needed to put an auger about 25-30 feet down the line before he got to the plug. That fixed it and then Kent cleaned up everything including some water we had spilled and then he carefully moved our stove back into place.
He was very polite. I would recommend him. I thought the cost of $112 for 20 minutes was a bit much, but it was worth it to get my sink back!

Kent was very prompt and did some good quick fixes for what was a much larger job to come. Unfortunately, one of the valve turn offs that he put in still leaked and the next plumber I hired had to redo Kent's job. His other value worked well, but since the whole water heater had to be replaced, that value was tossed out in the end. He did have a good referral for me and I appreciated that, but Kent was NOT a good communicator. He did not give me a feeling of being secure with the upcoming work which ended up costing thousands of dollars.
He did give me a quote on the larger job, but his price was the same as a much larger reputable company that I knew would stand behind their work. I was not convinced that Kent would be able to stand behind his work since it was far too difficult to communicate with him. Things will always go wrong in plumbing, but in the end I needed someone who would make sure the job was done right from beginning to end. Also, Kent didn't have anyone to help him and again I wasn't convinced that he could perform the job efficiently while working all alone. I've done a lot of plumbing work myself and I know when a helper is needed and for this upcoming big job, a helper was surely needed.
So, for a small job that doesn't require much, I would say he is okay and the price is fair. If you have a larger job and you are the type that needs more explanation of what will be done, etc. I would say to look somewhere else. For me, communication is just as important as a job well done.

I called Kent Mortensen and told him of my situation with the faucets..he gave me a great price and came within 30 minutes to perform the work. My neighbor recommended him years ago and has performed several plumbing jobs for me. He's always has been very friendly and honest. His job performance is excellent.

He was in and out. I have used for him for years. The work is always top of the line and very thorough. They are awesome and I would recommend them to other people. He always lets you know the cost in the beginning and stays as close to that as possible at the end of the job.
