Kent was recommended to me by my boss, who hired him after a recommendation from another co-worker. I recommend him too!
Not on this repair but last summer I had a small fire in my water heater. I called him out and he replaced it and I just asked him to take it away. Next thing I knew I got a letter in the mail from him with a gift card from home depot for $560. He had realized it was a Home Depot water heater and he took it back and got a refund for me. Without asking. He just did that all on his own and in all honesty he could have kept it forever and I would have never known the difference. I think that's exceptional.
On the many job I have had Kent do, he always completes the job quickly. I had him replace a water heater after mine started leaking. I called him and he was out the same morning I called with a replacement gas water heater. He installed it in about an hour and had no problems. Probaly wasn't the cheapest I could have had it done but yhink I got a quality job.
.Kent needed to put an auger about 25-30 feet down the line before he got to the plug. That fixed it and then Kent cleaned up everything including some water we had spilled and then he carefully moved our stove back into place.
He was very polite. I would recommend him. I thought the cost of $112 for 20 minutes was a bit much, but it was worth it to get my sink back!
He did give me a quote on the larger job, but his price was the same as a much larger reputable company that I knew would stand behind their work. I was not convinced that Kent would be able to stand behind his work since it was far too difficult to communicate with him. Things will always go wrong in plumbing, but in the end I needed someone who would make sure the job was done right from beginning to end. Also, Kent didn't have anyone to help him and again I wasn't convinced that he could perform the job efficiently while working all alone. I've done a lot of plumbing work myself and I know when a helper is needed and for this upcoming big job, a helper was surely needed.
So, for a small job that doesn't require much, I would say he is okay and the price is fair. If you have a larger job and you are the type that needs more explanation of what will be done, etc. I would say to look somewhere else. For me, communication is just as important as a job well done.
