Jenkins Appliance

The technician who was dispatched was not an employee of Jenkins Appliance Repair, but was an independent subcontractor.  The technician was polite and apparently knowledgeable about Kitchen Aide dishwashers.  I explained that the dishwasher was no longer cleaning properly, the water was not completely draining, and it was making abnormal sounds.  The technician looked inside the dishwasher and told me that the dishwasher needed to be cleaned, spent about five minutes dislodging some calcified material near the upper water supply, and then gave me a packet of tablets that I could have purchased at a grocery store and told me to run the machine once a month using these tablets.  In total the technician spent 10-15 minutes at my house and I was billed $161.00.  When I asked about they 10% discount that was advertised I was told that it didn't apply.  I was also told that the military discount didn't apply.  THe company does not take credit or debit cards; but will only take cash or checks -- something that I didn't know until after the "service" was conducted.  While the dishwasher is now clean, it is still not washing the dishes properly and the loud whining sound still exists when in use. This is a very small company located in a rundown part of Phoenix that is little more than a storefront that employs subcontractors to do the work.  The owner/manager is your only recourse should you have a problem; and we found him to be rude and aggressive.  We will never use this company again.

This was the first company called to repair our fridge. He "fixed" a problem but created a second by not connecting wires correctly. He then could not fix it and ordered a new "board". Needless to say, this didn't fix the problem. We never heard from him again. The second company said the problem was internal to the fridge and we needed a new built-in at $7000. They also reported that Jenn-Air was out of business. A third company after them repaired the problem in 10 minutes at low cost
