Green ID

We're really glad that we found Green ID because every stage in the process was outstanding. Our AC unit was original to the house (20 years old) and we knew it was only a matter of time before it failed. We didn't want that to happen in the middle of the summer. I initially sent requests to a few companies for an Energy Audit. It was over a holiday weekend. Green ID sent an immediate acknowledgment (not just an auto response). Within a week, Corey completed the audit. His audit revealed two problems we suspected: (1) one of the bedrooms was receiving minimal airflow due to leaks so it was really hot in the summer and cold in the winter and (2) there were several hot spots at the edge of our eves on the west facing rooms because insulation had not been installed properly when the house was built 20 years ago. He also told us that with only one cold air return (which was undersized) it was another reason our unit couldn't evenly distribute the air. Because our roofline has multiple peaks and a vaulted ceiling, we knew this would be a tough job, both to access all parts of the attic, as well as, to figure out where to place the new AC unit. We shopped around to compare how the work would be done and for pricing. We received four bids and found that David (the owner of Green ID) had priced the work very well. And even more important than pricing was the trust he & Corey instilled. We did not want to send all the existing insulation to a landfill so he suggested a way to supplement what was there. After discussions with David about what was best in our situation, we signed the contract and scheduled the time. Their AC guys did the following work: - repositioned the main cold air return to center it properly above a door - changed the grill to the more efficient style - added two new cold air returns for better air flow - changed some other ductwork to the right size - sealed all the leaks - added more insulation - installed a 4 ton Trane 17 Seer, dual stage AC unit. The guys showed up on time and did all the work within two days. They also cleaned up everything really well. Both David and Corey followed-up to make sure that we are happy. What a difference in the quality of air! The unit is incredibly quiet - so quiet that the first time I turned it on I thought there was something wrong because we didn't hear the "whoosh" that the old AC used to make. And the temperature through the house is now consistent. If you are considering replacing your old AC or getting more/new insulation, then call Green ID. For $99, they will do a whole house Energy Audit complete with pressure testing and thermal scans to find out how efficient your system is and where there may be problems. Then, if you get the work done you can apply to SRP (or APS) for a rebate.

When GreenID came out and did the testing Mike the tester was accurate and explained alot of what he found. I was surprised when all the result came out that my house wasn't that bad and the recommendation that they had was what I was already thinking and they didn't try to get me to fix irrelevant things. GreenID will be coming out and doing the work within the next few weeks.

Very thorough audit with pictures etc.  fixed all issues.  Very nice people to work with.  Thorough. Pricing seemed fair.

It went very well. The person who came to conduct the audit was on time, was very informative, and provided a complete report.

I was very pleased with Green ID. The owner was very friendly to deal with and the price was fair. The crew that came out were really nice, did good work and cleaned up after themselves well. I would definitely recommend them.

The audit was free, but they came out and recommend some services. It was a thousand-dollar worth of work. I think the price was pretty comparable. They were pretty quick. They showed up on time. They could have given more feedback. They came out and did the audit and then, they did the recommendations. They did an audit score before and they showed me everything that was recommended. I asked them what was my score afterwards and they said they did not have it. I called their office a couple of times and they never did give it to me. I am just curious how much I improved and they did not give me that feedback as far as how well I did afterwards.     

There was good communication between the team and our household. The work was done well and efficiently. We are pleased with their work.

The technician that came out to perform the audit did an excellent job thoroughly evaluating our home while also being very helpful and informative about what he was doing, what it told him, and suggestions for improving our home. Several days later another individual came to present the results of the audit that was performed as well as provide recommendations & quotes for suggested work. I found the data presented from the audit to be very interesting and useful - this is very powerful for informing oneself on the most effective way to improve your home efficiency and I would highly recommend getting a home energy audit to anyone. That said, the individual who came to present the results and proposal was clearly not very up to speed with what had been done & discussed with the technician. He was not aware for example that I had discussed with the technician that our master bedroom was warmer than other rooms and therefore he was going to include a recommendation for additional ventilation in that room to be included in the proposal. This in and of itself wasn't a big deal and was cleared up quickly, but he did not leave hardcopies of the results and proposal with me, instead promising to email the information that night when he got home. I had no issue with this, except that it didn't happen. I had to email him a couple days later asking for the info. A few days after that he provided the proposal spreadsheet and again promised to follow-up with more info, but a couple weeks have passed and I still have not received the actual data from the audit, only the quotes for proposed work. I won't claim to know if this one individual is representative of the entire company, but I am discouraged by the lack of communication and I am also dubious about some of the pricing which seems a bit high. I am strongly considering having another company perform some of the work recommended from the results of the audit - in part just to get a second quote to compare prices as any one should, but mostly due to the poor follow-up after the audit, which does not inspire confidence.

David and the crew from Green ID were a pleasure to work with. I had Green ID do an energy audit of my house, and then David sat down with me and went over the proposal. He explained why he suggested the specific items to do, and he also recommended which items would give me my quickest return on investment. I didn't feel like he was pushing me to accept his services. He educated me, and I felt like I could make an informed choice on the items that I wanted to do. The biggest impact was adding the insulation to my attic and realigning the batts, which were not installed in an energy-efficient manner. Last summer my AC's were running 24x7 but after his work was done even with the AC's off my house stayed under 87. 
I felt that David truly cared about doing the job well.

They were pretty good. The guy who came out spent a lot of time with us and answered all our questions.

They were very responsive and came out when they said they would. They went up into the attic and inspected and took many pictures up there. Several days later, they provided me with a report on what they found. It was a good report for me in that they found that my house was in pretty good shape energy usage wise. I would use them again.

I found everyone to be very professional.  I was given tips to conserve energy from my end.  They gave me light bulbs which I have put to use. I was also provided with air filters to fit my new return vent.

I was given ideas which in the future I could put to use which would conserve more energy so I have a plan to do each one.

The company will file for my rebate with SRP.

This was a very good company to work with.  They were most considerate of my time and we were able to get the job done working around busy schedules and out of town visits.

I was very satisfied with the work done.  There were other suggestions that I could follow thru with on my end and I have taken steps to follow their suggestion. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.|They were very professional and easy to work with.

It turned out good and they were fine. They seem to know what they were doing and they were not really pushy on trying to sell us products. They seem to spend time trying find the right products to help us out so that was specially nice. They were pretty quick and professional. The price seems very fair. We haven't any work done but it was very well with what they did.

I met David several years ago at the local home improvement event in the community center. I asked him questions on energy saving project ideas, and he was very patience answer each of them honestly and professionally. Well?I can?t speak for everyone, but for me a good general Q & A session is kind of like tasting fine wine?there is the initial impression, the way it tastes while drinking, and the feeling you?re left with afterward. In early September, I purchased my first house. I immediately thought David and his company to help me run an energy audit. I had used another local energy audit company for my parents? house before that recommended from a popular Saturday morning radio host talk show, but the experience was not satisfy as I need. I familiar the energy audit concept and it process. Yet I decided to use different company and have David and his company for fresh ideas. 
David and his crew did not let me down. His inspector Mike arrived on time. He gave me 10 compact-fluorescent lightbulbs, a low-flow showerhead and faucet aerators, worth about $50, as part of energy audit deal. He climbed up to the roof and checked my rooftop A/C manufactory date and model number. He walked around my house, measured its circumference, drew out the basic floor plan, label the windows, doors, and vents location. He also performed a blower door test and checked each room air pressures. Mike took a lot of notes, examined every corner, and looked for improvements. The whole energy audit took over 6 hours.
Few days later, David e-mail me 10 pages custom energy checkup report along with recommend improvement projects pricing. On the checkup report, I can see David had spent lots of time to prepare it. It is not a so-so generic report and my previous energy audit company was not prepare something as details as David does. It has pictures, charts, tables and graphs in color. It includes my home annual energy-use pie chart, APS before and after installed CFL lightbulbs, low-flow showerhead and faucet aerators bar charts, recommendation projects with cost & saving table, side by side comparison of the estimated annual energy costs of my home, and the definition and reasons for each energy improvement project.  
After reading the report with many counter questions regarding the recommendation list, I decided to have a R 38 insulation, duct sealing, air sealing, and install jump ducts in master bedroom for room pressure relief to circulate air back to the return when the door is closed. His contractors also arrived on time and spent over 7.5 hours complete all the recommendation projects. They did not leave me any trash and dusts for me to clean up. The whole job was completed so professionally, I highly recommend David. They were about the same price as anybody else so it's good. The best part is I asked David for a cash pay discount option and he accommodate my request and understand college student?s need to save me money. I'll use David and his company again if my family got another house that needed insulation. Overall, he was very pleasant to work with and did a great job!

Green ID performed an energy audit on our home. A gentleman came out to find  where the problem areas were. He spent several hours in our home, in the attic, checking our ac unit, the  duct work and insulation. They found that the majority of the duct work was secured with duct tape that was coming apart as well as insulation that  had fallen.  The evaluation was thorough with several photos taken of the house and attic  to show where and how they were going to repair the problems.
When David came back to give us the results of the audit he recommended several low cost items such as sealing all the duct work connections, re-securing the insulation as well as adding more insulation. They also made recommendations to install a jump duct on a room that usually had the door closed to improve airflow to that room and it did!. There were no high pressure sales tactics, David highly recommended what he felt would give us the best bang for our buck. Then we were able to choose what we felt we could comfortably afford. 
 David then sent his team in to perform the work. They crawled into the attic and realigned all the fiberglass insulation, resealed all of the duct work, sealed returns and registers and installed a jump duct. Finally they blew in several more inches of insulation. They were efficient, respectful and professional. They constantly kept me updated on their progress, and always  asked me for feedback to ensure I was satisfied with the work being done. When the work was completed they spent time to clean up after themselves. I have already recommended Green ID to friends and family.

The evaluation was impressive, with hundreds of photos taken of the crawl spaces to show where and how they were going to repair the problems. A little over a week later, they came back and realigned all the fiberglass insulation batts, installed 6" additional insulation; fully sealed all of the ducting, returns and registers and installed jump ducting. They were prompt, clean and very professional. They also took the time to explain all of the how's and why's as well as make some suggestions that we could do ourselves to reduce our power bill.

I felt David and team did a good job.  David was professional punctual, listened well and didn't oversell (which in this type of scenario is easy to do).  The job started with an energy assessment.  The gentleman that showed up was on time, very professional and did everything he could to stay out of our way while performing his assessment.  He took time along the way to explain what he was doing and some of the things he was finding.  I was surprised that the assessment took 5 hours (felt kind of trapped in my own home on a Saturday).
As the assessment, David setup an appointment to walk me though the findings.  Again, straight forward, honest and sincere.  He recommended only a couple things.
They day of the work David showed up with a trainee - I was impressed with how he taught and inspected the trainee's work.  David performed much of work himself.  
My only compliant was that they didn't take time to setup drop clothes or anything to cover the walls around the AC return intake where they were sealing.  Subsequently the trainee got sealant on my floors and walls.  It took some time for me to clean the floor, and in their attempts to remove the sealant from the wall, they started taking off paint.  David compensated some by discounting the working to cover repainting the wall.  Nonetheless I would like preferred to not have to spend time doing more work.
I felt the cost for the air balancing was a little high for what was actually done and materials used, but I really didn't have much of choice to move more air to another part of the house.
There was a little bit of confusion about paper work and forms to sign but we straightened that out.
Overall I had a good experience with David and his team.  Would recommend them but stress that they bring drop cloths and something to cover walls if they are doing any sealing.

The job was completed professionally, on time and on budget..

They were here on time just as they stated they would be.  Worked the whole time they were here.  At times there were 3 to 5 workers on the crew. All were Curteous, Cleaned up everything when they finished. Would recommend if asked. 

I contacted Green ID for a second opinion, had already had a consultation /  home energy audit through the APS Home Performance with Energy Star Program.  I was wary of the opinion of the first company, who had high Angies List Ratings.  They had seemed very sales-oriented, and the proposal / estimate seemed quite high, and they had recommended a new, top of the line, heating and A/C unit to replace our 2 ton unit that serves a minority of our home - the unit isn't that old and still works.
Green ID did a very thorough assessment, found a lot of the same problems, but only recommended doing what was cost effective or necessary.  I shared with them the information from the first estimate, and they added a couple of things I suggested / wanted done.  In the end, they did the work for around $4500, and they hooked me up with a company for sunscreens for the windows (my request) for an additional $500.
They did a good job, were very nice, and professional, and cleaned up after themselves.  It can be a very dirty job insulating the attic.  The work was scheduled in a timely manner, and they were easy to deal with.  The re-did some ductwork, sealed around the return of one of the a/c units, put in new registers, and did a lot of attic insulating.  Also, there were many air leaks from the attic to air between the walls, and this was all sealed off.  
It's easy to tell that our air does not run nearly as often, or blow as hard.  Haven't seen the latest energy bill, but I'm sure it will be very much lower.  They're also getting us a lot of rebates from APS for the work.
Great job, great price, cost effective energy upgrades.
