Door Doctor West / Arizona's Garage Door Doctor

After reviewing garage door service providers on Angie’s List I decided to call Arizona Door Doctor in Tempe. They answered on the fourth ring and I described my problem to them. They were very friendly and responsive to my needs. After giving me a ballpark estimate of costs and options for the job I agreed to hiring them. They said they had a service technician in my area and asked if they could arrive within the hour. I was pleased and agreed. The tech (Ryan) actually arrived at my home within 30 minutes. He reviewed the job and gave me cost options for the repairs. I agreed it made sense to replace both springs rather than just the broken one since they were both 20 years old. The repairs only took an hour. But what really pleased me was the little “extras” that they did above and beyond the repair at no additional charge. Specifically they adjusted the sensitivity on my garage door opener ,which had been causing my door to auto reverse occasionally during winter months. In addition he lubricated all of the roller bearings and hinges on the entire door and never even mentioned it. The door now operates as well as it did when it was brand new. You simply cannot ask for any better service than what I received from the AZ Door Doctor. I am very pleased and would highly recommend them to anyone period!

I originally called Magnum but they have merged into AZ Garage Door Doctor. My opener was old and had stopped recognizing the remote. I bought a new opener from Lowe's (Chamberlain) and had them install it. They also reinforced the doors with metal strips. They were efficient and professional and I thought the price they quoted was reasonable.

My 16 year-old garage door ceased functioning yesterday evening. I called AZ Door Doctor this morning. Within an hour, Tim arrived at my home, diagnosed the problems, and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to make the necessary repairs. He also offered options for size of motor, etc. Ended up replacing the motor, springs, rollers, and bottom seal. After I made the choices, Tim completed his work in under 2 hours. Everything is now working properly. A fair price, quick and excellent service. I will not hesitate to call AZ Door Doctor should I have need of service in the future.

I had an issue afterwards and the technician came out right away and took care of the problem with no charge.

Went well. At first I thought I was being unsold. I still think so, but I do not know enough about Door spring shaft bearings and the tech asked for the bearings because he wanted to play a joke on a friend. Very suspicious.

All went very well!!

The job was done quickly n efficiently. Tenants were happy.

Received my window inserts the same day I called. Awesome.

They were great!

They came right out. They did good work. They knew what they were doing. 

I do remember that the service call was $25 and they were to deduct that from the cost of the repair. I thought the price was a little high. I would consider using them again, but I would want more information on the specific cost beforehand. 

Because of the age of my garage door, they had to remove the bottom section and replace it with a newer piece, so that they could put a new universal rubber seal on. It was fine, I thought he did a great job. He included a free tune-up on my garage door because they didn't have the proper part that was needed.

This rating is for the maintenance portion of the work. The repair person was on time and courteous, quickly found the source of the problem and corrected it. HOWEVER, during the maintenance process he sprayed grease/lubricant on side walls and ceiling - finished garage. Contacted them two weeks ago and provided pictures of the mess, I was told the manager would get back to me....called back and sent several emails...still no reply. I started the cleaning process, unfortunately the walls and ceiling will need to be re-primed and painted. Will not use or recommend them again!

Great. Showed up on time, work done as promised. Very satisfactory job.

They came out on a Sunday, were very nice, did not try to sell me on extras, and gave a fair price. I asked them to come back to quote for an entire new garage and they made the appointment to meet my schedule. I recommend them.

They did a very good job. The guy that answered the phone was rude and condescending but the guys that came out couldn't be more helpful.

Our garage door opener started not working.  I called on a Sunday afternoon and was set up with an appointment the following morning.  It was decided that the old opener had a short in it, so I decided to have a new one installed.  It was installed quickly and efficiently.  Our cars were also programmed with the new remote.  This appointment went fairly quickly and I was very pleased with the results.  I would definitely recommend this company.

No complaints. Arrived promptly and the whole thing took less time than I was expecting.

Technician was called in to take a look at our garage door opener system and diagnose the issues we were having with it.  Although he arrived very quickly, we felt he did not do a thorough job with the diagnosis.  He disengaged the motor, lifted the door, said there was too much friction in the system, and then explained that there was nothing else he could do besides replace the motor and the spring system since there are no longer any parts available for our opener system.  On our invoice, he marked our motor as being bad without even inspecting it or running it.  For the price, I expected a more thorough investigation into the possible sources of the problem and possible solutions.  So after ten minutes, we were left with a bill for $65 and a feeling of being ripped off.  We knew right then we would need a second opinion, and that's when we discovered that even if replacement was the only option, the cost for this company to do it would be 50% higher than what we could find elsewhere.  I emailed the company to explain my dissatisfaction with their services and to request a refund.  The technician promptly called me to discuss the matter, but refused to refund my money.  Apparently customer satisfaction is not even worth $65 to them.  Buyer beware.

On Saturday evening the garage door failed to open, and when I checked the motor clearly had failed.  I called on Sunday - they offered to come over that afternoon but I had an appointment and so we scheduled a time on Monday.  David came over right on time and explained the options for replacement thoroughly.  No pressure whatsoever.  He did the work in about an hour, and then gave a very complete and thorough explanation as to what he did and what I needed to know about the installation and use.  The door operates very nicely.  I highly recommend this company and appreciate their professionalism.

Excellent company!  Like I said, they were able to come right away due to a cancellation.  David, the serviceman, was friendly, polite, professional and efficient.  After doing a thorough check, he showed me exactly what was wrong, explaining things very clearly, and told me how he was going to fix everything.  He was also able to explain all costs up front.  
When he was done, David again went through everything with me.  I feel like I got a great lesson on garage doors and how they work!  Bonus - he told me we should be oiling our door at least once a year, how to do it, and what products to use ( NOT WD40)  I didn't even know we were supposed to be doing that!
Needless to say I would highly recommend this business to anyone who needed garage door services.  I know I will be using them from now on.
