Find a different company! We came home to major water damage originating from the RO system they installed. Their insurance company is offering over $5000 less than what it would cost to restore our home to pre-damaged conditions and this company hasn’t stepped up to cover. In addition, their insurance company won’t respond to any of my questions because I am not “their insured” and they won’t accept any estimates from anyone but their own estimator. Aqua Science should be working with their insurance company (not me) and they should cover all costs to restore our home, but no such luck yet. Move along and use a different company!! I am filing a complaint with the ROC now. Hopefully, they will step up and do what’s right in the end. We shouldn’t be out the money when they caused the problem. FYI this company works under several names: Aqua Science, Costless Water Systems, AZ Water Rentals and J&D Resources.

Not so great.
When the technician discovered what appears to be a small crack or defect in one of the filter sumps, he threw it all back together, packed up his tools, and left. But not before making a fairly strong pitch to sell me a new unit at full price.
When I pressed him, he offered to honor that price for 30 days.
I went to Home Depot and purchased the three main filters (couldn't find the post carbon filter) and will shop around for a comparable unit at a better price.
I realize the system is older, but he didn't offer any alternative to simply replacing the entire system.

The salesman, Dave, was somewhat helpful. He was a little confused about the company and its offering since he had not worked there very long. But he was friendly and honest. The contractors came out the following week and installed the unit. They dug a trench and buried the pipes. They had to knock a hole through the concrete underneath our gate door which caused it to lean a little and made closing the door a little more difficult. Other than that, they did a nice job and included pavers to raise it off the unit off the floor. So far, the unit has done well and we are enjoying soft water.

I got four estimates. Three of the companies looked at the job and said they had to tie into the drain of my garage sink or laundry. Both involved cutting through walls and cabinets, which I really didn't want to do. Mr. Schimmel came in, saw how he could route it through a small attic area in the garage through a garage wall, and cleaned out the drain outside my garage wall. I can barely tell it is there, and on the rare chance it would leak at the drain, neither my house or garage would be flooded. They even hid the electric. Workers were quiet, respectful, and cleaned up after themselves.

WE ALREADY HAD THE HOME PRE-PLUMBED SO HE CONNECTED IT AND SET UP THE SYSTEM. HE ADDED THE SALT AND SHOWED ME HOW TO ADD IT. HE THEN WENT THROUGH THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE IT AND SOME TIPS ON ISSUES THAT OTHER CLIENTS HAVE HAD. IT TOOK A WHILE FOR THE WATER TO BE SOFT BUT IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM NOW. WE HAD TO CALL THE CITY WATER DEPT TO FIND OUT THE WATER HARDNESS SO WE COULD SET IT UP TO WORK WITH OUR WATER, NOT THE GENERAL SETUP.

VERY POOR. AFTER CHANGING THE FILTER, THE SYSTEM LEAKED AND DAMAGED OUR CABINET INTERIOR. THE TECHNICIAN CAME OUT A DAY LATER AND FIXED THE LEAK, BUT THEN THE HOSES BEGAN HAVING PRESSURE ISSUES AND WOULD SLAP AGAINST THE TANK WHENEVER WATER WAS BEING DRAWN ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE. RATHER THAN RISK THEM WORKING ON IT AGAIN AND POTENTIALLY MORE WATER DAMAGE, WE TAPED THE HOSES TO THE TANK TO STOP THE NOISE. THE TECHNICIAN SAID WE WOULD RECEIVE A CALL FROM THEM TO OFFER COMPENSATION FOR THE WATER DAMAGE. BIG SURPRISE, WE NEVER RECEIVED THE CALL. OVERALL, A VERY INCOMPETENT JOB DONE ON WHAT WOULD SEEM TO BE A FAIRLY SIMPLE PROCEDURE.

WE PURCHASED OUR WATER SOFTENER AND R/O SYSTEM FROM PURE-TEC REPRESENTATIVE AND DECIDED TO HAVE IT INSTALLED BY A FRIEND WHO SAID THATS WHAT HE DID AND IT WAS A MESS. WE HAD TO CALL PURE-TEC AND THEY CAME OUT AND HAD TO RE-DO THE COMPLETE INSTALLATION AND SET-UP OF THE UNITS. THEY WERE VERY EFFICIENT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

WE PURCHASED OUR WATER SOFTENER FROM PURETEC 2 1/2 YEARS AGO BECAUSE THEY HAD A MUCH BETTER PRICE THAN OUR OTHER BID. WHEN WE HAD A PROBLEM THIS SPRING, THEY CAME IMMEDIATELY TO TRY TO REPAIR IT. WHEN THE TECH COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM THEY PUT US ON THE TOP OF THE LIST TO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE COME OUT. GARY, IN THE SERVICE CENTER, WAS GREAT IN KEEPING THE LINES OF COMMUNICATION OPEN AND REALLY STAYED IN TOP OF EVERYTHING UNTIL COMPLETION.

IN GENERAL THIS COMPANY HAS SERVICED OUR WATER SYSTEM WELL. WE HAVE HAD SOME MINOR PROBLEMS WITH SOME HARD WATER READING THAT WERE DONE INCORRECTLY AND A CLOG, BUT THE PROBLEMS WERE FIXED IN A VERY TIMELY FASHION. THEY DO SOMETIMES SHOW UP EARLY IF YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT EARLY IN THE DAY WHICH ISNT A BAD THING, BUT COULD LEAD TO AN UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATION IF YOUR JUST STEPPING OUT OF THE SHOWER WHEN THE DOORBELL RINGS.

THE TECHS SENT OUT ARE USUALLY GREEN. WE HAD 2 MISTAKES MADE DUE TO LACK OF EXPERTISE OR TRAINING ON OUR SYSTEM. HEARD THEY HAD A CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP THAT WILL RESULT IN BETTER SERVICE.

THE SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED IMMEDIATELY. I CALLED THE SERVICEMAN TO COME BACK ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS TO ASSIST WITH QUESTIONS AND LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF THE SYSTEM, HE CAME BACK WITH OUT PREJUDICE. PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT THEY GAVE HELPFUL INSTRUCTIONS OVER THE PHONE ON HOW TO STOP THE EMERGENCY. THEN TOOK THE TIME TO SHOW US WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHAT TO DO IN THE FUTURE. THEY CAME OUT THAT SAME DAY AND WERE PROMPT & INFORMATIVE.
