First they were about 20% higher than everyone. Installed items and done poorly .
gave excuses on when we pointed out this was not installed properly. they said that was how it is and left.
Had to call manager to get senior person to come out and redo the job . Loose faucet , drain had missing parts not recoil and lines not done right. We could not even use the sink nor spray or faucet, I cant believe they even did not test their work on first install attempt?
When I called the original install tech he just argued with me and told me he cant help fix all of the items and my fixtures must be defective and his work was fine.
I called back and complained asked for supervisor who came out and fixed all issues , found missing part first guy left in the box and basically re did the work. Also 2nd installer admitted 3 separate basic plumbing things were missing or installed wrong.
Loose faucet, missing gaskets, loose drain, recoil spray not installed right and base faucet loose in 2 sections.
This vendor is not a fit for me even though it was redone and I had to waste time and have 2 appointment to get a basic job done . they would not even compensate me nor apologize!
DO not use them!!! many other places with better service and professionalism.
Fast-forward to now, with water streaming down my driveway. As it turns out, the water heater had a 6 year warranty and it was now 5 years and 11 months from when I had the original installed. Called City Wide Pumbing but it was Sunday, and they were closed. So called them Monday. I didn't have my invoice, but they had installed the water heater and they nicely wrote the install date on the water heater, so I knew it was under warranty. Gave my model and serial number to them and made an appointment for later in the day.
About an hour later I get a call from this woman at the company telling me "The company is not going to pay for the replacement because they go by the manufacture date which was a few months before I had it installed." Then she said "without the invoice your out-of-luck." She seemed to relish in that, but I told her I would look for the invoice, and maybe she could do the same because I bought the water from them. She said she would look, but didn't sound optimistic.
So I found the invoice and called them up with the info.
About 15 minutes before the appointment time I get a call saying the service person is on his way. About 40 minutes later he arrives. The installer seems knowledgeable and tells me it will be $385 for labor plus "parts." I point out the warranty says 6-years on the tank and 6-years on "parts." He says that is for "water heater parts not other parts." Hmmm.
In any case he installed the new water heater fine. Before he left i asked about an inspection? (This was a gas water heater and Scottsdale requires all water heaters be inspected.) He said, "no its just a replacement, not really required" which isn't true at all, and not smart for something like a gas water heater.
Overall, I wouldn't use this company again, and even if all went great, but their conduct was very unprofessional, and I think $385 is a bit much just to install a water heater which took maybe 90 minutes tops. (That's no added parts and no water heater)
"Thank you. we love to hear from our customers. Larry"
"We are sorry to hear of your bad experience with City Wide Plumbing. I will discuss your concerns with the service man to make sure it does not happen again. Larry"
"We are very sorry that u had the problem with the price, if you would of contacted the office and told us you were not pleased with the job and the price quoted up front and signed for we could of worked out the pricing problem."
"THE CUSTOMER WAS GIVEN AN ON SITE FREE ESTIMATE, WHICH HE AGREED TO AND SIGNED BEFORE ANY WORK WAS COMPLETED. THE BID INCLUDED ALL PARTS, LABOR AND TAX. NO PRICE ON PARTS WAS EVER GIVEN TO THE CUSTOMER. JUST THE TOTAL COST ON THE WHOLE INVOICE. THERE WAS NO BAIT AND SWITCH AS HE NEW ALL COSTS UP FRONT."
"WE ADJUSTED THE TEMP AS REQUESTED BY THE CUSTOMER. IT DOES NOT TAKE A WEEK FOR US TO CALL BACK."
"CUSTOMER HAD INSTALLED A NEW DISPOSER. OUR FIRST CALL WAS TO FIX LEAKING ANGLE STOPS FOR KITCHEN SINK FAUCET, WHICH WE DID ON 1/3/07. NO LEAKS UPON COMPLETION OF WORK. 2ND CALL 1/23/07, LEAK UNDER KITCHEN SINK, WHEN BOBBY LOOKED FOR THE LEAK, HE FOUND THE CUSTOMER SUPPLIED AND INSTALLED DISPOSAL WAS LEAKING. HE ADVISED THE CUSTOMER IT WAS NOT ANY THING WE HAD DONE ON 1/2/07, AND WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CUSTOMER AGREED AND WE MADE THE REPAIR. IF THE CUSTOMER HAD A PROBLEM WITH WHAT THE SERVICE PERSON WAS DOING, ALL THEY WOULD HAVE TO DO, IS CALL THE OFFICE, WHICH THEY DID NOT CALL IN A COMPLAINT, OR SEND THE SERVICE PERSON AWAY, AS WE OFFER A FREE ESTIMATE. AND CALL SOME ONE ELSE TO MAKE THE REPAIR. TOTAL COST BOTH REPAIRS 293.91"
"ON ALL WARRANTY WATER HEATER CHANGE OUTS WE HAVE TO CALL TO GET THE SERIAL NUMBER AND MODEL NUMBER AND CALL TO GET AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. THIS MAKES SURE THE TANK IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. WE THEN PULL THE OLD TANK TO TAKE IT TO THE DISTRIBUTOR AND FILL OUT THE WARRANTY FORMS, AFTER THAT WE RETURN AND INSTALL THE NEW UNIT. IT'S A LOT OF TRAVEL, FUEL AND LABOR."
"WE WOULD ONLY KNOW IF SOMETHING HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY IF THE CUSTOMER TELLS US. IF THE CUSTOMER KNEW IT HAD A LIFETIME WARRANTY, HE SHOULD OF ADVISED US OF THAT FACT, AND THEN WE WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM THAT IF HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAUCET/FIXTURE, THE PARTS WOULD BE SENT TO THEM FOR FREE. THEN ONLY LABOR WOULD APPLY TO THE JOB."
