The installation went very smoothly. The installers arrived at about 7:30 am on the designated day. They put down tarps in all locations where they were going to be working. As the air handlers were in the attic and the crawl space entrance was only a 2 ft by 2ft opening, so they had to cut out a space where one of the return air vents was to get the old equipment out and the new equipment in. Once they finished, their work area around the vent looked better than before. Both compressors and air handlers were installed and working by 2 pm. The other 2 companies that I got quotes from said it would take them 2 days for this job. As I was getting new digital thermostats as part of the package, one of the installers walked me thru the programming process prior to their departure. They kept things very clean as they worked, and when they were done, all their work areas were spic and span.
A couple of weeks after the installation, I was pleasantly suprised to get a call from Brewer's wanting to schedule a QC visit. This wasn't something that any of the companies had mentioned, so I don't know if the other 2 companies would have done this, but it's definately a good idea to have this type of follow up to make sure everything is performing properly after it's been up and working for a while.
Overall, I am very pleased in my dealings with Brewer's Air Conditioning.
hot AC cycle. When the inspection and repair was completed he cleaned the coils. He was neat and tidy.
5/5/2014 UPDATE: these guys rock. Generally speaking I don't have the time to write reviews. But seriously I have had years of experience with these guys and not once have I had a problem with their service and I am writing now because my AC died and I called them 1/2 hour ago and they worked me in to the end of their day to take a look at things. Same day service. Who does that any more? Without charging an exorbitant penalty anyway? Nobody else as far as I know. So, I had to share.
On 4/23/2012, and quot;Sashaand quot; an agent from Brewer's called me to tell me they were re-scheduling my appointment. I have to say I was a little taken aback as it was the day before the appointment and the agent didn't offer any explanation for the re-schedule. I asked directly why my appointment would have to move and was told that they had a sudden influx of emergency HVAC service calls and had to take those calls first before my service appointment. We had just had two days of 100 degree temperatures, so the explanation made sense. What happened next, did not: Figuring that it would only be a couple of days delay, I asked to be re-scheduled and the agent told me the next available appointment would be on May 16th ( 3 weeks later)!!!!
Needless to say, I chose another company who took me the same week that I called.
Based on the comments, reviews and feedback from others on Brewers, I was shocked at the level of service I received. I do understand unseasonal weather conditons but frankly, if Brewer's gets this overwhelemed from two 100 degree days in Arizona, I don't want to see what hoops I'd have to jump through to get service from them during the height of summer!
Some other customer service aspects that really disappointed me:
- I really didn't appreciate the fact that Brewer's failed to offer any apology or explanation for cancelling my appointment up front (I had to ask why I was being cancelled and re-scheduled). I get that sometimes unexpected things happen but some genuine empathy and an explanation that I didn't have to ask for would have gone a long way.
- I also didn't appreciate that I had no options - my appointment was cancelled - full stop. I had to ask to have it re-scheduled. Again, we all get hit by unexpected demand but at least be proactive to keep your (potential) customers happy.
- I especially didn't like the fact that Brewer's made no attempt to treat me like a potential long-term customer and offer me an appointment within the same month as my original appointment. Honestly, I felt so processed and pushed to the side. Brewers apparently handles a lot of home warranty contracts and these have to be serviced promptly due to contractual obligations. I'm sorry that I'm not as important to you as a big home warranty company but I did give my last HVAC company 6 years of continued customer loyalty - guess that doesn't matter to Brewers.
