Jason the tech was very nice and knowledgeable. He explained everything and also future recommendations. But after he told me the cost depending on how much refrigerant the unit took, I told him I had a 10% off coupon from Angie's list and then he called his boss of someone at the company and came back with a little higher price (it looked like to offset the 10% off. So basically got a higher price to take 10% off of and ended up paying the original price!! So gotta make sure you watch that. I let it go cause their pricing was pretty decent to begin with. I would probably use them again, but hopefully I won't have to. Just hope this "fix" works for a long time!

This company did the right thing by me.  I purchased a new Trane AC from them in
January, 2014.  The unit turned out to be
a lemon.  During the summer of 2014, it
started exhibiting symptoms of severe defect: violent rocking and clattering of
the compressor upon start-up on high demand afternoons.  Company technicians were unable to detect the cause during
several initial visits, but when the unit failed completely in August of 2015,
the company replaced the faulty components?compressor and external coil?at no
cost to me.  My experience with this
company, in the end, was highly satisfactory.
They stand behind the products they sell and take responsibility when
there is a premature system failure (which is more than I can say for Trane, who accepted absolutely no responsibility
for their shoddy manufacturing).  I would
add that AZ Refrigeration?s technicians and management personnel were always
very responsive and courteous to me throughout this process.  Over all, purchasing a Trane AC has been a
pretty miserable experience for me, but I feel the people at AZ Refrigeration
Service did everything in their power to make things right.

Company installed new AC/heat pump in my absence (as planned) in 2006.  When I returned to my home the fan was running; could not shut it off or operate the system.  Called company; service rep sent out; worked about 3 hours; said all was OK.  As an occasional visitor only (and never in the real hot Phoenix summers)  I never realized how messed up the install was until I had an SRP audit of my system in early 2010.  SRP rep said system was installed backward and needed complete reversal of unit and elbow to operate properly.  Called company and asked for such a fix; company would not do fix as suggested by SRP; offered a less costly fix involving re-routing of return air system within elbow (as best I can recall).  With no other affordable option, I accepted.  AC/heat pump never worked well, either before or after their lesser "fix".  Had new AC/heat pump installed by Arizona Cold Air yesterday after being told prior system was even worse and less efficient than I had thought; had to install new elbow in proper position at extra cost.   Unless you are a qualified AC service provider and/or competent to access your roof to understand and observe install, you might wish to think about my experience with this company when you are deciding whether to use it.

The salesman came to the house and talked about "how he needed to get something for himself" and that "what was important was that he got something". We had to go online and do all the searching for the warranty info to prove that the manufacturer's warranty covered all parts and labor. This happened on about June 12
The office called the next day and said if we wanted the part "next week" we would have to pay $150 for "expedited service" which we did as Phoenix was at or near all time record high temperatures (132 degrees in the sun) just then. Our house was like an oven.
We called the next week and were told that they had lost our phone number and were glad we called back. They had the part though and wanted to schedule an appointment in another week to come out and install it.
We complained about it taking almost two weeks to  fix a full parts and labor warranty covered repair with "expedited service".. They then decided to come out on June 21 and repair the A/C unit. They repaired it, it ran for 14 days and stopped working..
We called another dealer who promptly fixed it and said the coil should have been pressure tested and vacuum tested to make sure there were no coil leaks and further someone should have called back a day or two later to makes sure the unit was operating properly. The repairman from the second dealership also said that if the vacuum or pressure tests were done the leaks would have been detected.
We gone a salesman wanting to make money, a poor job, fooled out of a $150 "expedited charge" (for what seemed like just a regular amount of time for a IPS shipment), no follow up and a the unit crashed again. We enjoyed 10 days of blistering heat without our A/C unit.
Don't go near this place. In my opinion, they are not honest and do lousy work. Nothing would compensate us for the. miserable days we endured while they lost our phone number.....

So we used these guys when we sold our house to do some repairs and were pleased with them.  At the time, the technician, Jim, gave us a coupon for a free diagnosis on the new house.  Our real estate agent had bought a home warranty for us on the new house, so we were using services from them first.  We were having problems with our air conditioner, and the home warranty sent out a guy to look at it.  We were still having some problems, so we called and requested Jim come back out to take a look at it just to get and unbiased opinion.  At the time of the call my husband told them about our coupon for a free service call..I know..I was there when he called.  So Jim comes the next day, and states we have a freon and oil leak, and we should probably get a new unit....even showed my husband pictures of the problem on his phone.
I called the warranty people and told them we got a second opinion, and they sent over another  air conditioning company to look at it.  The warranty company's repairman came right over, and told us we had no freon leak, no oil leak..we are missing a shroud off the unit that it needs to stay cool. After this  repairman leaves, my husband realizes he paid for the call for Arizona Refrigeration for the diagnosis even though he told them we have a coupon.  I have to say to, in my husband's defense, he is disabled and has memory problems due to his illness (Multiple Sclerosis and recovering from a near fatal bout of Gulliane Barre). At the time he paid he had forgotten we had the coupon even though it was sitting on the island in the kitchen, but he did tell them at the time of the call.  So needless to say he called Arizona Refrigeration to tell them he paid in error.  So the next day the money comes out of our account, and he calls them.  They stated they were not going to refund the money because my husband didn't tell Jim at the time he had the coupon (even though he told them at the time he made the appointment), Jim said he was supposed to do the diagnosis BEFORE we bought the house, and because we had a home warranty (?) --why does that have anything to do with it.
I say--well we aren't going to be doing business with them because 1) they know we have the coupon (Jim gave it to my husband at the time he did repairs on our old house), 2) our home warranty should have nothing to do with it, 3) they were trying to get us to buy a new unit, 4) Jim didn't see a freon or oil leak because we saw pictures the next technician took..and I watched him take them (so whose pictures did he show my husband) and 5) Arizona Refrigeration obviously does not need our business.

They are very knowledgeable and will work to fix a problem before they try to sell you a new unit, which is why we have stayed with them. They have 24 service, which we used when our fuse box blew up late in the evening. They are always friendly and we have been pleased with their service.

Poor. Work was sloppy and expensive. System quit 4 days after being repaired requiring another service call. Discovered that I paid $700 to replace a dual start/run capacitor that I could purchase for $25 through the Internet. Technician didn't have proper parts or tools for the repair. Work included parts and service beyond what was required to repair the system.

Showed up towards the end of the time range. First replaced motor broke down after 2 days. Quick to come back to fix it. Second time around, did not have the correct part, retrofitted unit with a temporary motor. Then came back with a final replacement a few days later. Overall good experience given the age of the A/C unit. Excellent service in providing work around in the summer heat. Very professional in dealing with customer.

THE THING THAT I HAVE BEEN MOST IMPRESSED WITH IS HOW THOROUGH THEY ARE. THEY CHECK EVERYTHING. THEY HAVE ALWAYS SENT OUT KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF THAT ARRIVE DURING THE TIMEFRAME PROMISED. THEY WILL ALERT YOU AHEAD OF TIME WHEN THEY ARE COMING. THEY WILL GIVE YOU MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND ARE GOOD COMMUNICATORS.
