We just wanted a book case, but the Wood Doctor team created a lovely piece of custom furniture for us. And, it was a great value,. The Wood Doctor is a craftsman of the highest order who, justifiably, takes great pride in the work product. Additionally, it was a pleasure dealing with the Wood Doctor. He is pleasant and personable as was his colleague. Work started precisely when they said it would.. Rob listened attentively and did exactly what he said he would. We would not hesitate to hire him again. In fact, we have already recommended him to others. We consider the Wood Doctor a "real find".

Outstanding. Robert was from the start extremely professional, on time for appointments and personable. He understood my wishes completely and didn't try to sell me his ideas for my project, instead he listened and designed the floor to ceiling, wall to wall case just as we envisioned it. Pricing was very reasonable and all in all we were very pleased.

Terrific. Rob always called ahead to confirm his arrival time and did phone updates on the arrival time of ordered materials. Good communication to keep us updated on progress. His work area was kept neat and his work was as well.

We have a stucco fireplace and wanted a wood mantle. It was a custom job and required several trips from the Wood Doctor to fit it. We provided the stain and he created a beautiful mantle for us. We are very pleased.

The bottom of my kitchen cabinet under my sink had begun to decay as a result of a faulty leak. Rob removed the bottom of the cabinet and replaced it with a customized finished product. He was efficient and professional. Thank you Rob for a job well done.

Rob, The Wood Doctor, was hired to repair damage in my rental home caused by the previous tenant's dog to the door casing, baseboard, shoe moulding, and corners of the kitchen cabinets. I hired him based on his quick response to my request, his assurance that he could get the job done in my compressed time schedule, the feedback from other AngiesLists customers, and his website photos.
Unfortunately, the repairs were not completed in a satisfactory manner. The baseboard and casing
had a slightly different profile that didn't fully match with the existing, the
door casing repair was skewed and did not align with the upper portions, and
the overall repairs were easily distinguishable and stood out. The baseboard
corners were highly detailed and taller than the originals, again not matching
with the existing. The shoe moulding was completed reasonably well
although the nail holes were not puttied. The cabinet repair had lots of putty
(wrong color too), it still needed to be sanded, and the damage was still very
noticeable. Due to my tight schedule, I just sent him on his way, knowing that I could make time in the evenings over the next days to fix the issues. I hired someone so I wouldn't have to do that in first place. I did follow-up with him after the fact and expressed my dissatisfaction.
Due to the poor quality of workmanship, the lack of the attention to details, and the inability to meet an agreed to time frame, I would not recommend hiring the Wood Doctor.

"Thank you, we appreciate your business and the review left on our company. I apologize for any miscommunication on my behalf for this specific job. This was a challenging job that was needed to repair damage done by your tenants and tenants’ dogs. I did explain that the job would take 3 days due to the extent of the damage. We agreed that the painter you hired was to fill all of the nail holes. Also, I do understand that you were unhappy with the color of the stain used, which was out of my control since you provided the stain for me. Lastly, we scheduled my services on Wednesday which was the day I did the initial work, and at the time we agreed upon. It would have been helpful if you would have disclosed your dissatisfaction when we did the final walk through instead of saying you were satisfied with job done. I would have addressed any issues and corrected them at that time for you."

Rob was fantastic. Our vision for what we wanted was not a typical or easy job and he was able to build our vision. The detail work was very important to us and Rob nailed it! Rob was very meticulous in his work and constantly checked in with us to ensure that the detail work was done to our liking. His professionalism and knowledge helped us to problem solve the unforeseen challenges and still get us the outcome we wanted without adding great costs to the project.

Rob and his son Jordan were amazing. Rob designed custom benches and customized our existing kitchen table. We have been searching for a table that would fit in the small area of our dining room. He came and measured and gave us some suggestions and then built and stained the table top and benches at his shop and called to install them. They look amazing. He was more than accommodating for our time table and we are very happy. We will be calling him early next year for some other projects in our home. Good honest people are hard to come by but we are thankful that we found you Rob the Wood Dr... Thank you.

Basically, the Wood Doctor came in and said he could complete a cabinet installation (we had all new doors and drawer fronts). He had put two cabinets fronts up and decided the job was not for him and we had agreed. We appreciated his honestly and had no hard feelings.

I paid him 50% up front as a deposit.
Robert showed up at the agreed upon date and time to perform the work.
He performed the work meticulously and asked if I was happy with his work.
I told him I was pleased. He cleaned up the area and departed with a check for the balance paid in full.

Hes very cordial . He s very slow and very expensive. Had him give me an estimate on enclosing shelves with 3 doors. He wanted prehung doors etc for me to get the material and was going to charge over a thousand dollars. I could have had cabinets installed for $600.00 or be cheaper and go to the salvage get all the material there for about $100.00

"Im not at all pleased with this review.First and foremost i take alot of pride in my work .This member asked me to hang a cabinet which was done and then fix her lazy susan which had major problems opening and closing .She indicated that Iwas too slow .I basically had to rebuild the inside of the lazy susan being that the adjustment table was in bad shape .this was a time consuming project being that i had to figure how to do it .Itold her I would do my best so not to invest in a new one which would require removal of the countertop .I fixed it .she seemed very happy .gusss not? what she doesnt underatand there is no quick fix for issues like this .I then looked her garage project which shwanted me to enclose this highly unsightly area "her words".Mthoughts were to put all new pre hung doors in the front which would look great .She mentioned that she would like to sell the house within a year.She mentioned used doors from a salvage area also which I told her I would not install due to the fact it would take a huge amount of time to make them work not cost effective. She never once talked about a budget and was obviously not happy with my proposal Thanks Rob Wooddoctor"

After I purchased the "Big Deal", I contacted Rob. The list of services that he specialized in were very specific. I had some difficulty arranging an appointment. Rob showed up promptly, was very courteous and professional. He had some difficulty assembling my patio furniture set (the directions were not very specific) and he impromperly/incompletely assembled one of the chairs. However, this task was not one of his specialty areas and I would hire him for a different job. I would recommend discussing the proposed task with Rob in detail before engaging him on a project.

Even though it took quite awhile to get a weekend appointment, I was thrilled with Rob and his workmanship. I initially bought the closet doors this past winter and when my son couldn't install them, I stored them in the shed, where they warped. Rob worked hard to get them installed correctly. Underneath my kitchen sink was a disaster where a handyman previously fixed a leak and just put a cheap piece of wood on top of the deteriorating wood. Rob gutted it and placed all new wood - not just the shelf, but the surrounding areas. It was great!
