.The oil change went well, but they "washed" my car and there was still plenty of dirt and spots on it.
Here's my issue. They said I needed an additional $600+ of maintenance (rear differential, power steering fluid, fuel system exchange service, etc). My vehicle is a 2013 Chevy Tahoe with 30,250 miles on it. I declined the option and took it to another shop. The other shop looked up the owners manual and said my vehicle shouldn't need it, but I took it into them anyway to have it checked out. They inspected everything and sure enough my vehicle didn't need any of the work Sands said I did. I'm not sure if they did this because I'm a female, but either way I don't think anyone would appreciate what they attempted to do.
Easy to say I will never take my vehicle back to Sands.

I had an early, 0800, appointement and was there on time. The time estimate was 90 minutes to do the work. However, after 2 hours they informed me it would be another hour to finish. The service Advisor, Gary Westfall, was very appologetic and explained that several cars came in that day without appointments and disrupted the schedule.
When the work was done in 3 hours, Gary paged me. I spoke with him and he told me Sands would waive the fees for the tire rotation and service, I was expecting to pay about $23 for this, because I had to wait so long after the promised time. This is great customer service and I commend Sands Service Dept.

Sands had satisfactorily changed the oil before. This time the seal on the new filter started leaking, leaving spots on my driveway and garage and, worse yet, on my relatives' driveways. I didn't discover the cause until 12/20/2012. The car had around 1500 miles left before the next oil change was due. I asked Sands to fix it/replace the filter and they refused, saying leakage was normal as was the significant amount of oil the car had used (and it had used virtually none before,) and, somehow, the oil was due to be changed anyway.
I get the concept of 'you get what you pay for' but Sands could have solved this problem by replacing a $3 filter. (And I'm really unimpressed with the $165 quote to clean the oil off my driveway.)

THE DEALERSHIP NEVER CALLED ME THE FIRST WHOLE MONTH THEY HAD THE VEHICLE. THEY HAD POOR COMMUNICATION WITH ME SO I DON'T KNOW IF THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE INSURANCE BECAUSE IT TOOK OVER 3 MONTHS TO GET THE CAR FIXED. THE VEHICLE MIGHT LOOK LIKE IT HAS BEEN FIXED, BUT THERE IS A WEIRD KNOCKING NOISE EVERY TIME I MAKE A TURN. THE CAR IS GOING BACK TO THE SHOP, BUT NOT TO BILL HEARD CHEVROLET.

THEY TINTED IN A TIMELY MANNER AND WE DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT LONG FROM OUR APPOINTMENT TIME. THE WORK WAS DONE WELL.

GARY, MY SERVICE REP AND THE VARIOUS TECHNICIANS ALWAYS TREAT ME AND MY PROBLEMS WITH THE UTMOST PROFESSIONALISM AND KNOWLEDGE. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO TAKE A CAR BACK FOR A SECOND TIME FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.
