Paul was fantastic. He communicated with us the entire time, even letting us know when he was sick and wasn't at the house. This is impressive as we were living in another city 2 hours away and never would have known the difference. We had the tile laid diagonally which was a pain and made it so he had to do many many tile cuts. Our kitchen is on the second floor so he had to measure every cut, then walk downstairs and make the cut outside, then repeat. He also had a lot of trouble because our floor wasn't level at all. He had to remove the subflooring and start over. Paul communicated extremely well through all of this and was a real trooper through out all the roadblocks. Our tile looks beautiful and we are very happy that we chose to go with Paul.

The contractor did a great job. Paul originally told me he couldn't get to the job for a week. I asked him to try to squeeze me in and he got his contractor started in about 2 days. Paul was very responsive and the job was done superbly.

Paul was amazing. He was professional, informative, timely and clean. It was a great experience from the estimate to the finished product. We get more comments on the floors and inlay than we ever could have imagined. Will recommend to all and when we redo our second house, he will be the first and only we will call.

Paul did a beautiful job installing ceramic tile to match the and quot;diamondand quot; pattern in my kitchen and dining room. He was prompt in returning my calls and working to schedule the work as quickly as possible. The job was difficult due to the installation in the other areas with plan for carpet only in the living room. He explained the challenge of the installation and how he would accomplish the work. The result is stunning. He is definitely the and quot;perfectionistand quot; he says that he is! He then cleaned and sealed the tile throughout my home. I will contact him for future tile and stone work projects.

I met with Paul and told him what my idea was for the remodel of my master bath. We discussed my plan and he advised me from there. From the very beginning, he told me what to expect along the way and everything went according to plan. Paul works by himself so the job took a little longer than it would have with a crew but he is a perfectionist and very talented at his trade so having the job take a little bit longer was not an issue for us. I asked him for his opinion many times along the way and I was very glad that I took his advice. When we didn't know who to use for a plumber, Paul suggested a guy that he works with often and the plumber turned out to be a great plumber with reasonable prices and one we will continue to use. When we weren't sure about who to use for the glass, he suggested someone he had worked with and again, we will continue to use them too.
Paul is one of those guys with an old fashioned work ethic. He comes at the same time everyday and works hard with little to no breaks. He takes great pride in his trade and has a vast amount of knowledge in many areas of construction.
If you are looking for someone to do any type of tile or masonry work…you have found your guy. Every single day that I walk into my bathroom I look at the beautiful care that went into the tile work and I thank Angie's List for helping me to find Paul Munroe.

Paul did an excellent job with the tile portion of our bathroom remodel. We had spent a great deal of money on our tile and unfortunately it had some flaws with the consistency. We were not able to return it so Paul did his best to make it work. Even though the project took quite a bit longer than we thought, we are very happy with the results. Paul is a one-man operation so it may take a little longer, but his prices are more than fair and he does excellent work!

We were so grateful to find a CRAFTSMAN like Paul Munroe. There are very few of what I would call craftsmen around anymore, but fortunately Angie's List still has some.
When I called Paul we had just fired a handyman. Although a very sweet man, the handyman was slow and his tile work was down right BAD; there is just no other way to put it. The tile was a crooked and c***-eyed mess and half way through the job I heard him chiseling up my vintage NOS tile. We only had a limited amount of sheets of this tile and they aren't making it anymore. so we let the handyman go and went over to Angie's list to find an experienced tile man. We saw the EXCELLENT reviews that Paul had and we knew he was the one to call. He fit us in to his schedule and went right to work. Paul came in, covered the floor and hallway with tarps and started the demo. Once done he went straight to work on the counter top, In a couple of days he had the counter top finished; it was beautiful. Now, just a reminder, we were using tile from 1960 to match the age of our home, so the mesh backing that the mosaic tile was attached to wasn't in the greatest of shape so this wasn't a standard square tile and spacer job. Before the Handyman debacle, we were considering doing the floor in the remainder of the NOS tile. When we saw the quality of Paul's work we asked him to do the floor also. Paul also made suggestions like putting a standard square tile border outside of the NOS tile around the perimeter of the bathroom. I was glad I took his advice because it really made the NOS tile stand out beautifully. Paul is a HARD WORKER. and rarely took a break. He was so enjoyable to talk to and we became quick friends. He turned a bad handyman experience into an adorable 1960 pink tile bathroom.
When we are ready to do the Master Bath in our NOS Blue Mid Century Modern tile, Paul will definitely be the one we hire for the job!
THANKS PAUL!

We gave Paul an extremely difficult man made material to work with. To further complicate things there was a very definite pattern that had to be followed in installing it. Paul was a perfectionist from start to finish. The results are stunning.

Given the vast amount of remodeling being done---it went extremely well. Paul went out of his way to be sensitive to our family's needs during the extensive remodeling.

Wow. What beautiful work. Flawless -- and considering the brick that I gave Paul to work with that's saying alot. I asked Paul to use and quot;clinkerand quot; bricks that I picked out to cover a couple of walls inside my house. and quot;Clinkerand quot; bricks are mishapen, deformed, kind of beat-up and salvaged looking. They aren't easy to work with. Along with the right tools and equipment, you need an artistic and aesthetic eye, an eye for detail. You also need to be a problem solver. Paul is all these things and thanks to him my project was smooth and stress-free. It turned out even more beautiful than I'd hoped. Especially the attention to detail. Paul is a professional and he'll make your job a priority. He won't cut corners and he'll work every day all day 'til your job is done. I'd like to add too, that Paul is a great guy. Good values, really likeable and a pleasure to be around. I'd have him back to my home anytime and he's my first choice for any future projects. A++.

Paul's work is always OUTSTANDING. He is a true professional - a craftsman who still believes in the old ways of truth, respect, value, and perfectionism. His jobs are always done on time, on budget, and to the highest standard. In addition, Paul has become a good friend. He's just an all-around nice guy - something sorely absent in dealings with contractors today. His wife has sent goodies to us - and Paul himself has checked on us when we were at home sick with the flu. I can't guarantee that he'll provide that level of service to everyone - but I CAN guarantee that you'll never go wrong hiring Paul!

Paul Munroe has been working on remodeling projects at our home off and on for 13 months and has completely transformed it from a builders standard house into a custom home. He is the most honest person that we have ever dealt with in the building trades and gives a very fair price for the work to be done. If he says he'll do the job, he'll show up and do the job on time, every time. If needed, he'll even bring in his personally selected subcontractors such as plumbers and painters to assist. Many years of experience in stone, tile, masonry, and general construction make his work stand out from others who don't have the technical skills and finesse that he has learned and honed through many types of building projects. We have been overwhelmed with his patience and attention to detail that he has given to our home. He has the true pride of a craftsman that is seldom seen in the building trades today.
