MR. FIX-IT Handyman & Painting Service

John showed up as scheduled and seemed to know exactly what i wanted done.  His estimate was reasonable.  Unfortunately I did not stick around to closely supervise his work.  He patched in a new piece of board very well, but then without consulting me he chose some paint I had and painted the new piece of  board - the wrong color!  To give him credit, the color isn't way off the rest of the board but it is noticeably different to me. To do the painting he used one of my paint brushes without asking permission - I buy very high quality paint brushes and take good care of them so they last a long time. He did not adequately clean the brush and it will never be the same.  
My advice is, if you use him, supervise  him closely.  Then I think he can do a good job.

On the initial visit, tried some fixes under the sink. The guy was very professional. Unfortunately, the leak continued. I have been unsuccessful rescheduling Mr. Fix It to return and complete the job correctly. It has been close to a month now. The company was very quick to schedule upon the initial appointment, but have fallen short on their customer service since then.

It took longer than 24 hours for him to call back but once he did he let me know that his voicemail is full with job opportunities at the end of every day and is unable to always call back in that time frame. He was very nice and understanding that we had a house inspection and had a laundry list of things to get done. We had to wait 3 weeks but that was alright for me because I knew based on other reviews that he would be great. They were on time, extremely professional but also friendly, and precise. They sat down with us and we made a list of all the things that needed to be done and he had us show them exactly where everything was located. They got right to work and were polite of the fact that we had animals in the house as they walked in and out. At the end he showed us everything they did and had us check off on everything. The bill was quite a bit less than we thought it was going to be and they cleaned up all of their things and any debris.

It goes so well, I don't have the least worries when he is working for me. I know he will help me make good decisions, and I know he always does the job right. I don't even have to think about it. I am perfectly fine with him working in my house when I am not there. The price is always reasonable. In fact, I feel like he makes sure you get a little extra value for the price.
It is like having a good friend (although I found him through Angie's list) that you know will take care of you. And I am still amazed how clean it is after he leaves. No big mess for me to have to clean up. Sometimes I think he just must not ever have any trash. After all the many contractors that have ripped me off (and they will all end up on Angie's List), it is great to have one or two I can truly count on.

Each of the jobs was done very well and within the time allotted. Everything looked great when Ren was done. Would definitely hire him again for other handyman jobs.
