Purchased a "daily deal" voucher for $69 for carpet cleaning of three areas. Scheduled the appointment by phone and owner and helper arrived promptly. I showed the three areas that needed cleaning and asked the cost of cleaning two additional bedrooms and was quoted $20 each. That seemed reasonable so I told them to go ahead. I also pointed out several areas that had serious pet stains and asked if they could be cleaned. Owner assured me that they would be good as new but there would be an additional charge of $39.90 for sanitizer and deoderizer and $75 for pet specific chemicals. After cleaning the areas he informed me that they needed more chemicals than he had estimated (another $39.90 and $75) but that he would guarantee that the stains would be gone. I agreed because I wanted it done right. When the carpet dried and was vacuumed, the pet stains were clearly evident in all areas that had been treated.
I called the owner and he immediately returned. They put more chemicals on the worst of the stains and went back over other small areas. When the carpet dried, the stains had turned brown instead of yellow and looked worse than ever. I called the owner and said I was leaving for my other home but I was definitely unhappy with the dining room area and he would need to make it right when I came back in the Fall. When I returned, I found that not only was the dining area in its original stained condition but also the other smaller spots had not been eliminated. In addition, when I moved a loveseat in the family room I found that the carpet under the loveseat was much cleaner (from a previous steam cleaning) than where the foam supposedly had cleaned the rest of the carpet. I bought a top of the line Bissell carpet cleaner, used pet formula, and managed to remove the pet stains from all of the areas myself. I have learned two things: "daily deals" - no matter the name are just an opportunity to get in your home and add additional charges; foam carpet cleaning is ineffective. I cannot recommend either.
