We have 3 units, that is why they come out so often. It's not always on the same unit. I would say the quality of their work is very good, very good. We live in the valley of the sun. When you need A/C help in the Spring or the summer, the demand by everyone is so great that there is always a waiting list. In other words, you can't call anyone and in an hour they are there. You are luck if you call and they come in 2 or 3 days. That's the norm. So given that condition, I would say their response time is very good. They did a good job. They staff is very good about communicating with you, very good. I would tell someone that they are in good hands, to call them. I would not hesitate to recommend them. If you consider price on a spectrum, they are at the top of the spectrum. They are not the cheapest, but in this life you get what you pay for. I would say their pricing is competitive and fair. You can find out it's cheaper, but if you find a cheaper outfit you're gambling.

Bad - Highly exploitive and uncompetitive pricing. They seem punctual and competent. They just charge more than double their competitors. Plus, I got the really hard sell. I called to have person look at my unit but two guys came, Demitry and Christopher. They said to fix would be $4k and to replace would be $12k. They said that no-one else in valley knew how to do the work and that all other A/C units but Lexxox were garbage. I have since received two competing quotes. $1000 to fix and $4000 to $5000 to replace. These guys were clearly up up selling. One thing that caught my attention was the statement by Dmitry that he "swore" that the price was competitive. They said R22 refriderant was $250/gallon. The other two competitors charged $100/gallon. This is the third time I have experienced what I deem to be exploitive pricing from Bob Brown.

Up until recently I'd have also given Bob Brown a great score, They're great at doing seasonal checks and the guys are very polite and do that work fine.....but the high ratings stopped when I'm getting dinged first 500 then 600 to correct an error they created.  Had a heater unit installed and it worked fantastic.  The old Continental A/C unit worked fine but the drip pans were so old the rusted out and no replacement available.  That's where things go south with this co. The new A/C unit was piggy backed onto the furnace but the return opening wasn't cut big enough and it put a strain on the blower motor causing  problems.. well $500 later they cut the wall again to provide equalization. The rep at the time said the motor needs to be replaced and although promised someone would be out to replace the motor it never happened. called again and rep comes out (without the motor) spends maybe 10 minutes here and says "will let them know and someone will be out Monday"  called multiple times on Monday but got the 2 step shuffle from the receptionist and hold time of 15 minutes before no one there to help.  finally talked to Manager calls me on Tuesday (says that's when he got the messages) who says they're going to eat some of the cost but will now cost another $600 to replace the motor that their lack of proper installation  caused to burn out before it should have, had they done the correct install it probably would still be running correctly.  So unfortunately after being a loyal customer for close to 10 years I'll be doing business elsewhere... before you consider using Bob Brown, think about the Plague eating you alive. it's quicker and less painful.  Sorry guys you earned this one!

The service contract was OK. They called to remind me of upcoming service dates, checked the heat pumps, and cleaned the coils. I didn't have any problems so they made one up. The service technician claimed one of the heat pumps was low on freon. Well, my units are nearly new, the freon is sealed in, and it is not likely they are leaking freon. So when they charged me $70.00 for freon in addition to the $247.00 I had already paid for the service contract I was suspicious. I had another company come and check the heat pumps out and there is no sign that they were/are leaking freon or that they added any. It's always possible that I could be wrong, but I believe they claimed I was low on freon so they could gouge me for another $70.00. I am not renewing the service contract. Nor do I recommend them to anyone else.

Showed up on time and did the heating first, noting that last year they sold me a new motor for that. This year after the A/C inspection told me I needed over 2K in repairs for the AC, showing me that the fan motor moved up and down and told me that the bearing were going out on the compressor. I was given an estimate by their salesman, Shawn Carroll, that a new unit would be $4249 and probably should replace the furnace too with a combined total of $8375. I would get the $146 credit for the inspection off either total if I used them. I got another company to come and do an inspection and possible estimate.

After much testing J & J Repair Enterprises filled out a form saying that the unit showed no major problems but a little a little low on charge and one pound of R22 refrigerant was added. Why didn't the first company I hired to "tune up" do that?

This company says all air temp splits were in normal ranges and checked all amp draws. All are in normal ranges. He told me to write a complaint to the Better Business Bureau for unethical practices on Bob Brown. I am going to do that, as I live in a retirement community and feel they prey on senior my age.

Did I even need that motor last year?

I have all documentation for this complaint.

Our AC quit working around 9pm I noticed on a very hot day - 117 degrees.  I called Service Experts and they returned my call within the hour and sent a person out within 3 hours.  The guy checked out unit, noticed the capacitor burned out, and replaced it.  Said our unit was old and we needed a new one. It is 13 years old and very inefficient so he is correct on that one.  Anyway we paid the 250 and our AC is working fine now.  I was impressed he came out at midnight.  We do have a service contract with them by the way.  I think they do a good job.

They tried to sell me a furnace but my neighbor who was into heating and air conditioning said no. They started telling people that they need a furnace. I dropped my service contract with them immediately after that. I found out that all the time that I was using them, they have been trying to cheat us. The last time, I got a second opinion and did not use them.

When I asked how much it would cost if I bought the parts I was told $900. A supervisor then came and would not budge from that price. I then hired Dan Bell of Bell Air Conditioning, LLC (623-748-3324) who installed the parts I bought and fixed a few other problems he found for $400. This guy was the most knowledgable and honest I've ever dealt with!

The experience went very well. With initial call and setting up an appointment to receive an estimate the sales representative was very knowledgeable. We waited a few months before making the decision and Bob Brown kept to the estimate originally quoted helped with all rebate forms. On the date of installation we were told it would take a full day to install and it did. Overall experience was very good.

They were bad. We didn’t have a problem with the installation but they were supposed to do some service on our small cooler which they didn’t install. They were going to charge us $300 but our friend came by and the part actually cost $15. We called to ask them about this and they never responded. We cut them off on our credit card and they never even called; we withheld payment and that was just really poor service. We got them through Costco which is where we purchased the AC. Several times they arranged to come out and do the maintenance that they recommended and they would just not show up.
