Child Care - Center
$153
All of the information I present here has been gathered from personal experience and employee accounts over the period of three years. My two children attended.

First, the carpets have been steam cleaned and sanitized only once in the past three years, possibly longer. The carpets in the infant and one year old room are routinely spit up on, vomited on, and peed on. There have been multiple outbreaks of hand-foot-and-mouth, pink eye, and RSV and I personally believe the filthy carpets play a large role in that.

Also, the one year olds are cramped in a tiny room while the infants are in a much larger room which is not used adequately. The arrangement of the cribs and toys does not use the rooms space to its potential and not all the cribs are being used. Why are the infants, who do not need a lot of space, in the big room and the one year olds,  who need room to move around, are shoved in a space not much bigger than a small bedroom? The one year old room is licensed for 11 children according to sign posted on its door. There is no way 11 children can fit comfortably in  that room.

Third, the employees are lacking many, if not all, common employee courtesies. They are not given consistent annual raises or are even evaluated for one. Employees that have been there for years are making the same amount now as when they started. They are not given compensation pay for the time they spend attending training (on their weekends) that is mandatory for employment. There is no break room for them to relax, away from the work environment, during their lunch. The fellowship hall is available sometimes, but not always, which forces the employees to sit in their cars (regardless of weather) or drive (or walk) to a nearby fast food restaurant to rest.
Finally, the director seems ill equipped for her job or perhaps just burnt out. She routinely speaks condescendingly to her employees directly in the presence of parents and children. She continuously contradicts herself and shows hypocritical behavior. She is guilty of demonstrating  favoritism among her employees.  She does not consistently enforce the rules and regulations set forth by the state or in Shepherd's Fold own parent handbook. Her attitude toward her employees seems judgmental and probably creates a poor work environment which I trust contributes to the swift employee turnover and low child retention rate the child care center experiences. There is no high quality management in place which brews low quality work and inevitably leads to poor business.
