ONE HOur air-conditioning and heating

1) My wife's first contact with the office was an unpleasant experience. She found the phone receptionist to be very irritating and rude. In addition she told her that we wanted an estimate done for the cost of the work. But the actual work was performed instead without our consent. 2) When I had to call back because our heat pump was not fixed on the first visit, I found the phone receptionist to be very argumentative and treated me as an adversary and not a customer. 3) Although the repair tech was very pleasant and appeared knowledgeable, his approach was more of replacing parts and not really diagnosing the problem. That is a very expensive approach: a) First visit - Replaced 2 parts and cleaned system. This was done without our approval. We feel this was the phone receptionists fault for not informing the repair tech that all we wanted was an estimate. But since the system was supposed to be fixed we paid the $675. As it turns out, the system was not fixed. Only the secondary heat strip had been fixed and not the primary heat. b) Second visit - He determined there was a bad relay which had to be ordered for an additional cost of $253. c) Third visit - The new relay did not fix the system and he determined the main controller board was bad. That would be over $1000 to replace and we had already paid them $928. 4) They provided an estimate to completely replace the system. But the above events caused me to start looking elsewhere for replacement estimates. I found One Hour's r estimate to be very high even after the "credit" for work performed. It was several thousand dollars cheaper to have a different company do the replacement work. Plus I did not have any desire to deal with One Hour any further, nor did I have any confidence that they would perform the work correctly.
