"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], I am unclear as you signed all the required paperwork for the cleaning of your home that you were selling. Did you not understand what you initialed and signed? If that was the case then I would have happily walked you through your questions that you may have had at that time. I know moving, selling and unpacking can be stressful. I do apologize for the delayed response on this platform as I am hardly ever on this site."

I called Shannon, the owner of Kastle Keeper Cleaning. Her response was less understanding and upstanding than I had expected it to be. When I had met Shannon at the time she came to my home to access what I was needing and to give me a price for the cleaning as well as to answer questions, she had been very impressive and reassuring. However, when faced with the problem of a missing item, she certainly was not reassuring when she suggested that the item might have been moved or misplaced.
Given that no dusting had been done, that seemed highly unlikely. On a hunch, I dug through the garbage bags and found the pot with its broken pieces neatly piled on top. When I sent a photo of this to Shannon, our exchange just got more unpleasant.
It ultimately resulted in her assuming no responsibility for the broken pot or for her worker not acknowledging that she had broken it and then hidden it in the garbage rather than bring it to my attention. Shannon even suggested that I might have ulterior motives in this matter.
At that point, I concluded no good could come of further contact with Shannon. I had already decided not to use the company again - even before discovering the missing pot because it had become clear to me that I would not be comfortable with an arrangement that did not offer the consistency of the same workers each week.
"[Member Name Removed], My philosophy is always better late than never! And I honestly had no idea that this was even posted here. As this incident was several years ago, my recollection regarding this situation was that the piece in question was purchased from a museum store in flagstaff, az. The receipt presented was over 10 years old and I wanted to see if it could be replaced at the time. I contacted [Member Name Removed] B, and it took her over 3 weeks to get back to me with the photos provided and copies of the receipt that you gave me. The final result according to Musuem store, the missing/broken pot in question was never purchased from them and was a copy of a replication that was produced with another museum type store for a significant lesser price than was presented with the receipt provided for the broken piece. I am truly sorry you had this experience with us. And I apologize that the Museum Store took so long to get back with me. Sometimes these things can not be taken care of as fast as we would like. I did try and notify you with updated progress reports via your answering machine with the number that we had on file and never heard back from you so I assumed all had been taken care of. If it makes you feel better, just know that the employee's in question were terminated for their unacceptable behavior. All the best, Kastle Keeper Cleaning Services."
