After coming in under-schedule and on-budget, I wouldn't recommend anyone else but TMM Homes, whether you are considering a small remodel, addition, or something as large as a custom build. Back to the budget. Initially I was put-off by TMM Homes' proposed budget because it was a bit higher than the other contractors. However, since we came in on budget, I was very impressed with Matt's estimating skills and I appreciated the fact he didn't come back to us for more money. I had a friend who chose not to go with Matt because his budget came in higher than the competition, and she later lives to regret it. Her remodel in Carefree took 6 months longer than planned and she had to engage several people to get the job done, not to mention spend about 25% more than she thought. She now refers Matt to friends and neighbors who are looking to have work done on their home.
Description of Work: I engaged TMM Homes for our whole house remodel in 2008. Initially, I was overwhelmed with the task-- we essentially were remodeling the majority of our home and adding a considerable amount of square footage. The task was daunting. After reviewing the plans, Matt proposed a budget and process for getting started. The budget numbers were not what I wanted to hear, but I'll get back to that later. We decided to proceed with Matt as our general contractor because of his professionalism and straight-up approach. Matt spent copious amounts of time each day supervising the job and the subcontractors. Matt also did a lot of the hands-on labor himself. He treated the project as if it were his own home, never settling for less than perfect work, and suggesting alternatives or ideas when we were coming up short in design areas. He made the process of making all of those decisions bearable with his suggestions and expertise. The project management of our remodel was excellent, from making sure things were running on time, to dealing with inspections and trades.
