This company was supposed to spray my olive trees. I asked him to let me know which day he was going to come to do the spraying. Instead, one day I received a bill. I called because I wanted to know how he got through my locked gate, but he could not remember. He swore he sprayed the trees. The bill was for more than he quoted me, which I disputed, and he reduced to the quoted price. Fast forward... our olive trees are covered in olives, thousands of olives. The ground in our yard is covered with hundreds of olives that we have to keep picking up. He didn't do the job, lied about it, and tried to overcharged me. Do not hire this guy.

I needed this service done in a big hurry because I was about to leave town. Ray responded immediately, himself, was at my house either the same day or the next day, and performed the service himself. We worked out the final price based on his review of my yard, and decided which products to use (I wanted a clear product that doesn't affect the color of the gravel in the yard). When I returned in 3 weeks, all the weeds were dead and there were no new ones. I am very pleased with the service and the outcome and will use Ray as needed going forward. I have about a 1.4 acre lot and the price was higher than I thought it would be because that's not an "average" yard size.

Scottsdale Weed Control is simply the best ! Ray is courteous, prompt and does high quality work.  Very careful with individual homeowner properties, and especially careful to avoid spraying vehicles.  His work is guaranteed, and we have never had one of the trees that Ray has sprayed produce olives.  Wouldn't think of using anyone but Scottsdale Weed Control.  They also do our pre-emergent weed spraying for a large HOA.  Excellent work !

Ray is back this year because our infestation of nut sedge has returned.  Lat year, he treated our lawn and we were ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with the results.  We expected a return of the nut sedge, and Ray contacted us (he's very proactive!) and scheduled this year's follow-up.  This year's crop is nothing compared to the mess we had before Ray's first visit, nd the sedge has already started to wilt and fade in the week since his visit.  He's already scheduled another follow-up. to make sure this terribly noxious weed infestation doesn't choke our yard as it did before his first visit.  We wouldn't have a lawn at all if it weren't for Ray.

I wish I called him first and did not waste my time with other companies that came back via google.  Great service and extremely knowledgeable.   I called around to various companies only to get a sense that they did not listen to what I needed.  I had a major wood sorrel weed issue that was taking over the yard.  
I had a few companies come out to include AZ Weed King, Bern's Pest Control, Pest Management and another I cannot remember.  All of them had various pricing but I felt the most comfortable with Ray.   He came by my house, literally got on his hands and knees and surveyed the type of grass I have, type of weeds growing and the best way to approach getting rid of them. He knew what to spray to keep my grass healthy and green while killing the weeds.  He was careful not to kill my plants and other growth we wanted alive around the border of our grass.  
He is just a nice person that is reasonable with his cost.  He is on time, friendly and very professional.  If you are not sure who to go with, at the very least call him and have him walk your property and give you a quote.  The other people I called did a Google earth image and quoted me on that.  They did not take the time to see what weeds I had and how to kill them effectively.   He also explains killing weeds can't be done overnight and it is a science.  It takes time to do it correctly and stated what I should expect within various time frames.  The owner also gives you his personal cell phone and ask you call him directly with any questions.  
Other companies were more interested in setting up the appointment and how much they will charge.  I like the fact he came to the house for free and actually walked the yard and gave me a price based on my needs and issues that are unique to me and my yard.

Wow.  Ray came out himself and took a look and said it was a big job.  I don't know what happened this year but the weeds were horrible and I've never heard of them before.  He put down the application and said some weeds wont die for a 4 weeks.  So I said I'll write a review in 4 weeks.  Well, 2 weeks later the weeds are gone and they look to be gone for a long time.  I came home from work for lunch and met him and he was professional and knowledgeable.  Local guy who cares about what he's doing!  I had Tru Green for a year and they never did what Ray did in one application.  I trust him.  I'm so sick of waiting for it to rain so I can pick weeds.  Scottsdale Weed Control took care of that.  Ray, call me when I need another application and make my lawn green and gravel clean buddy!  Thanks so much and totally worth the money!

I have new "desert landscaping" and have been battling weeds for a few months now.  Fed up with trying to treat and remove them myself, I did some research on Angie's List.  Based on the many positive reviews I read, I contacted Scottsdale Weed Control & Fertilization.  The owner, Raymond Lopez came out the next day and gave me an estimate based on the area that needed to be sprayed (under one acre).  He was able to come back later in the day and apply the pre emergent on our granite rocks.  We also have several olive trees that I will have sprayed (sterilized) in January so olives don't grow on the trees next year (we recently moved into this house and it has several olive trees on the property- I was unaware of the mess the olives create when they drop on the pavement and yard.) Mr. Lopez gave me an estimate on treating/spraying the olive trees and he will come back in January to perform that work.  Additionally, while Mr. Lopez was here today, he fertilized a few of my plants that are not thriving.  Next spring, I will have him fertilize all my landscape plants.  I was extremely pleased with Scottsdale Weed Control & Fertilization.

We're expecting to get a second visit around the first of August, but we've already had amazing results.  The infestation of nut sedge has been decimated -- a little bit remains, but it's all showing signs of weakening.  The discoloration of our bermuda (Ray told us to expect that) is starting to reverse, and the bermuda is beginning to reassert itself in our lawn as the nutsedge dies away.  Ray also dealt a pretty severe blow to the crabgrass that was taking advantage of our weakened lawn, and gave us excellent advice on clearing the nut sedge from planing beds (our flower beds are now completely clear of the stuff!).  He was prompt, helpful, effective, and reasonably priced.  I hope my neighbors follow our lead and get help from Ray, because our yard is not the only one that has signs of this problem.

I called Ray Lopez of Scottsdale Weed Control and told him that he had been highly recommended to me by John Eisenhower of Integrity Tree Service the day before when my trees and bushes had been pruned because it appeared to Mr. Eisenhower that my mimosa tree was infested with wood borers and my bottle tree had a fungus.  On 9/22/2012, Mr. Lopez inspected the trees and confirmed that the mimosa had flat-headed borers and a spider-mite infestation and the bottle tree had a fungus.  He also advised that the juniper should be treated to prevent the spider mite infestation from moving to the juniper since it was close to the mimosa's location.  He treated all three trees. He was completely suited up and used a full face mask to protect himself from the chemicals he was using.   He was prompt (the appointment was 6 am), professional, and had everything he needed to treat the trees after he had inspected them.
Mr. Lopez returned a few weeks after the treatments and inspected the 3 trees (at no additional charge) and said that they appeared to be responding.   This year the mimosa tree is looking much healthier; the borers and spider mites had made the tree look sickly last year.  This spring it had lots of beautiful blossoms and foliage.  The juniper and bottle trees seem to be doing well with new, healthy-looking growth on each.
