I have been pleased. He is a good worker. My mother’s house was kind of flooded out with a broken pipe when we had that cold spell and so he is going to repair that as well. He has worked very hard. He has done a good job and he has saved us money wherever he could.

I paid $18,000 in part, and the insulation was not included in that and we paid an extra amount for that. It was not formal as we gave him the check upfront and half afterwards, and that was fair, but he signed his name and with that we finished paying for it on the estimate that he had given in the first place. I don’t know how professional the business part of it is, but he did what he was contracted to do. The quality of the work was good; it turned out very well. I signed only the first part of the estimate, and the next part I didn’t sign, so it was kind of haphazard in that way. He has some people working for him and they seem to do a good job. They were here when they said they would be. It has been a very long time since we did any work on our house, so I do not have a comparison about the price. He did not have a contract signed but had all written out on the estimate with the total. I would probably use him in the future. He was really a nice guy. In regards to professionalism, I don’t really understand if it is a company or a person acting as a general contractor because I know he keeps the trailers and things like that at his house rather than a business unit or office. If I were in a business, I would make sure that I would have a contract that involved all the different things that were going to be done. He had only the estimate, but it wasn’t per se a contract. He wanted me to sign the paper for the $18,000 one, but for the one for the windows and the one that involved the insulation in the attic, I felt there was no consistency there. It isn’t how I would have done it. Though some people are good in what they do, they are not as good in the business part of it.
