Orkin Pest Control

Here's the deal. They are a very large company, they are nationwide. So they are departmentalized. You don't talk to one person about everything. They have a sales department, they have a technical department, they have a marketing department, da da da da da. The sales department, which is what you deal with first when you call them, they send a sales rep over. He is fabulous. He knows all the right words and all the terms. He is oh we will do this and we will do that. Oh yea we will check that and we'll check that. That is what you get from the sales people and they're great and you love what they say. Then the technical people come out and it is a different ball game. You say wait you didn't do that. Oh we don't do that. Oh but this guy said that we do. Well he's in the sales department and he doesn't know. The sales people were great, and the technical people did the best that they could. There's a difference between the sales department and the technical department. I will say this, in 2015 we saw signs of Termites again. So we called them up and they were very very nice, they came right back out, and we did it. No charge, no hassle, no problem. So we were very pleased about that. The price was good. Here's the thing. In my mind I am not a technical person, so my understanding of everything might not be right. But I am thinking to myself, if they had done an excellent job, they wouldn't have had to come out again. The fact that they had to come out again the next year maybe they didn't do as good of job the first time as they should have. That may not be fair. I don't know. Responsiveness was good. They say a treatment should last 7 years. If that is true, and everything is good and in 7 years we have to have another treatment I guess I would use them. I would probably talk to a couple other firms before choosing.

It didn't cost me anything, That was very good. This time was better than the first time. Everything was good then. The guy that came out was very good, he apologized. He said he didn't think it was anything that they did wrong the first time. He said termites are very persistent when they establish a feeding ground. When they have a feeding ground, even when they are driven away, sometimes they come back. It's not a fault of anything, that's just the way they are. So these termites were very persistent. He said there are some things that we could do better too. For example, we have a large place. A large house and a large lot. Our lot are in different sections, and our different sections are bordered by railroad ties that we had installed. We liked the way the railroad ties look. We didn't think about it when we ordered the railroad ties. They are laying right there on the ground. They are the border for different sections. He said my god that is like putting a picnic basket out for ants. We didn't know that. Once he mentioned it I though oh my god that's right, how stupid of us. So they came back, and he said it was not their fault that it is just the way it goes. Sometimes certain colonies, termites, are persistent. They remember their feeding ground even though they are driven out. Over time they'll come back. That may very well be true. I don't know, but when I called them and said I see signs of termites reappearing. They were very nice, they didn't make excuses, they came right out, they took care of it, they didn't charge me, and they were very good at that part. I have no complaints.

They were at my home numerous times and there was a charge each time, they did not exterminate the bed bugs. After 6 months of attempting to solve the problem I had another service take care of the problem. I will never use them again.

They have done a great job. They are very thorough. They are very knowledgeable and spotted termite trails when another service provider did not.

They have been satisfactory, however they do charge the same amount whether they are spraying outside and inside or just outside. They are always here when they say they will be and they usually call before they come.

They were thorough and glad to sit down and explain and educate me about termites and how to prevent them. They were very informative of the 3 exterminators that I've dealt with. I would definitely choose Orkin.

They are a very large company. They are excellent. I'm very pleased with them and with the time that they took and with what they did. One man came and then I had two helpers come in. Then the supervisor came to see if I was satisfied with the work that they did. They are very professional. They were very reasonable and they gave me a discount. So I was real happy. That's a major company and I think they're national. The other people have different experiences with them. I called them on the spur of the moment. They are registered, licensed and insured. I needed to get help right away to solve my termite problem. They were little tiny things and so it was like an emergency situation. I know the gentleman who was the inspector that came out. He inspects and his name is Jeff Franklin. He's the one that came out and had to do all the inspecting and diagrams. He told the actual technicians what the problems were. They had the work done and were finished in one day. I will use their services again in the future. I'm going to have them come out and inspect periodically for termites.

We have a contract with them. They call and tell us exactly when they will be here. From what we can see they do a good job with the pests because we haven't seen very many in the house. We had a problem with ants and they were very prompt to respond and they took care of the problem. We've been happy with them. They do charge a little bit more than other people but so far we haven't had any problems with them. We would recommend them.

I arranged for a inspection between 12-2 on Saturday. I made sure I was home and they were a no show. they had my cell phone and I received no call. I called the switch board line on Sat and I was told dispatching was closed at 2:30pm AZ time and they could not get in touch with an inspector. I then received a call from a Mike on Monday (who apparently was the inspector) and he said he was sorry but did not know what happened.

Very poorly, late notice of rescheduling led me to cancel the appointment altogether.

Ryan is a nice guy. Very trustworthy around my kids and stuff. He even takes his shoes off in our no-shoes house. No problems. He's very knowledgeable; when I describe an odd-to-me bug, he's always been able to identify it and let me know if it's dangerous or not. Whatever they use in their pesticide works. We've had a couple scorpions (the main reason we spray) get inside, but all have been slow moving or dead by the time I've found them, that I know the poison has gotten them. He is very responsive when I call for an "urgent" need like a rat trap or a make-up inside spray. He always calls the day before his visit to confirm that he's coming. We're very happy with the service and that we've always had the same technician! He covers several of our neighbors' homes as well; it is nice to have the same person accountable to multiple clients in the same area.

I have had them since I moved in and they have been really good so far at controlling the pests. They come bimonthly, but if I need them in between I just call them and they come right away. They are very responsive. They call before they come out to remind us that they are coming. They are respectful and professional.

I like them because they are prompt and reliable and they has been able to solve these pest problems we have had. At one point we used to have ants and they got rid of them. I'm not happy with the fact that the price has been edging up lately.

Very professional, thorough, responsive. Expensive, but hopefully worth it over time.

IN DRILLING IN OUR BATHROOM, ORKIN HAS DONE THE WORK BETWEEN THE TILES, INTO THE GROUP AREA SO THAT THERE IS LITTLE EVIDENCE OF THE WORK. THEIR WORKERS ARE THOROUGH AND NEAT, ALWAYS LEAVING THE AREAS IN GOOD SHAPE. IN ALL CASES, OUR YEARLY FEE HAS COVERED ALL THE WORK.

ORKIN SET TERMITE TRAPS AND MONITORED THEM FOR ME. LEFT INFORMATION, AND WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO, AND WHEN THEY WOULD RETURN THE FOLLOWING QUARTER.

I WAS RUNNING LOW ON MONEY AND DID NOT PAY MY YEARLY INSURANCE FEE. MY BROTHER WAS WORKING ON MY HOUSE AND DISCOVERED TERMITES. HE CALLED ORKIN. THE ESTIMATOR CAME OUT AND SINCE I HAD BEEN A CUSTOMER THEY GAVE ME A GREAT DEAL. NORMALLY THE COST SHOULD HAVE BEEN AROUND $2000.

THE SALESPERSON / TECHNICIAN WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE EXPLAINED THE VARIOUS TERMITE TREATMENT OPTIONS, COSTS AND TRADEOFFS. THEY WORKERS WERE NEAT AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES, WHICH WAS IMPORTANT BECAUSE THE JOB REQUIRED DRILLING INTO ALL BATHROOM FLOORS IN DISCRETE LOCATIONS IN ORDER TO APPLY LIQUID TREATMENT IN HIGH RISK AREAS. DURING THE TIME THAT THE 2 WORKERS WERE INSIDE OUR HOME, A PIECE OF JEWELRY WAS TAKEN (GUCCI WATCH) FROM THE MASTER BATHROOM BY ONE OF THE WORKERS. WE DISCOVERED THIS RIGHT AFTER THEY LEFT, AND THE ORKIN BRANCH OFFICE WORKED WITH US TO RESOLVE THE MATTER BY ALLOWING US TO DEDUCT THE FULL COST OF THE WATCH FROM OUR PAYMENT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS WAS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR US, BUT AT LEAST IT WAS RESOLVED TO OUR SATISFACTION.

THEY ARE VERY CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. THEIR PRICES ARE GOOD BECAUSE THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. IF ANY PEST PROBLEMS OCCUR BETWEEN VISITS, THEY ARE HAPPY TO COME OUT AND RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. ALSO, IF I SEE PESTS IN THE HOUSE, THEY WILL SPOT TREAT THE INSIDE, WHEREVER IT APPEARS TO BE NECESSARY.

THEY WERE NICE, BUT NEVER SPRAYED INSIDE MY HOUSE. I USED THEIR SERVICES FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR AND THEY NEVER TOLD ME THEY WERE TO SPRAY INSIDE. THEY TOOK 5 MIN. TO SPRAY MY HOME AND CHARGED $60 TO DO IT. WHICH I FOUND OUT LATER WAS TWICE THE COST OF OTHER COMPANIES AND THEY DIDN'T SPRAY AS MUCH OR INSIDE MY HOME. I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THEM AS A COMPANY AND WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. PLUS THE MAN THAT CAME FOR AN EXTRA CALL MADE ME FELL BAD FOR CALLING HIM BECAUSE THEY DON'T GET PAID EXTRA FOR THE TRIP. OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS PRETTY BAD AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED.

WHAT CAN I SAY, IT WAS AN EXTERMINATION. THE PEOPLE I DEALT WITH WERE NICE AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE DONE IN ONE DAY.

ORKIN LOCATED NEW TERMITE ACTIVITY CAME BACK AND SPRAYED APPROPRIATELY.

THE PEOPLE FROM ORKIN ARE ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL MAYBE 10 MINUTES LATE, BUT OF COURSE THERE'S TRAFFIC. OVERALL THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY THAT GETS THE JOB DONE!
