Bob showed up on time and worked with my wife to locate the lighting perfectly above her piano so she could see the keyboard and music. We originally thought that 2 lights would be sufficient, Bob convinced us that we should use 3 - he was right.
He seemed to understand how important it was to a pianist to have good lighting on their keyboard and music and placed the track and light perfectly.
Bob completed the work, cleaned up like he had never been there - and my wife was thrilled.
Bob performed the work in a very short time, cleaned up after himself and charge a fair price, and was very engaging to speak to.
I'd recommend him to anyone.

Neely Electric saved our Christmas. With family coming from Canada, the florescent lights in our kitchen ceiling would either not work at all or buzz like jet skis. On the recommendations of neighbors and Angie?s List, I called Bob of Neely Electric, and he said they were booked solid until Christmas, but that he would try to squeeze us in somehow. He also gave me detailed instructions of what to buy ahead of time at Home Depot to further save time and money. Two days later, he called immediately when a window of time opened up, came out promptly, and did a beautiful, professional job at a very reasonable rate. I will certainly be using Neely Electric again.

I was skeptical about using someone from angieslist, but now I'm glad I did! I found several electricians online and had them give me estimates, which were all very high. I found Neely electric on angieslist, called, and got an appointment for an estimate. They arrived and gave me an estimate for much less than other companies had quoted me, so I agreed to have them do the work. They were very professional, called a couple of days before the work was to be done to confirm our appointment, and actually showed up early on our scheduled day. Bob was very personable, and explained what he was doing, and even answered several of my questions. Him and his partner each did a portion of the work, layed out plastic to keep things clean, and they did an excellent job. I have a few more electrical projects that Bob will be coming back to do for me. Neely was an excellent service at a very reasonable price, and I'll be using them exclusively for all future projects.

Bob and I had a few missteps coordinating the appointment, for which I was partially responsible, but once he arrived and performed the services requested, it was well worth it. He replaced a piece on the ballast of our fluorescent light which was causing the bulbs to burn out every few weeks. He could have easily charged us for an entirely new ballast but was very truthful about the repair work required. He also replaced a piece in one of our light switches that had been causing a loud hum. He is very experienced and honest which are the two things I care most about when having a repair person in my home. I will most definitely use him for any future electrical services that I require.

What a great company! Bob was outstanding. I had 3" recessed lights that had been installed poorly and wanted to replace them with 4" lights. He also rehung some pendants that had excess wiring. He took them down trimmed the wire to the appropriate length and reinstalled them. Not only did he do an incredible job but he charged me less than what he originally quoted!!! Really? How many contractors would do that? I have been remiss in not posting this review earlier. Even nearly a year later, I have had no problems with the work performed and think of the great experience I had every time I look at my lights.

Neely are very knowledgeable skilled electricians. They got it done quickly when it needed to be done. They made good clean bends installing conduit around the eaves of the structure. They did a great job!

These guys are the best. My first contact with Bud a year ago was amazing. He called, emailed, responded right away. I was so impressed. This year I dealt with Bob, and once again couldn't be happier. He doesn't try to do what doesn't need to be done; tells me if I can pick up the parts cheaper at the big box store, and truly aims to please. Totally professional, very enjoyable, the best. His helper Jason was fantastic as well. They are definitely considered "my electrician" when I need something. Awesome - and I'm pretty picky!

Probably one of the best experiences I've ever had with a repair service!!! I signed up with Angie's list last night as nobody in my neighborhood had any electrician referals. I called Neely's this afternoon from work, and while he said they were booked up for tomorrow and Friday, if I could make it to my house in 30 mintues they could meet me there since they were already in the area.
Bob did a great job of listening to the amateur troubleshooting I had already completed and then took the time to explain the steps he was taking and why. After checking the electrical panel he was able to determine the issue was inside the house and then started checking the impacted outlets and switches until he found the culprit.
I feel very confident that they charge a fair price for the services provided. While my job turned out to be a small issue (loose wire in bathroom switch) I would go back to Neely for any larger jobs as well. The only item I'd call out is that they are a small shop and as a result don't process credit cards.
While I'm sure there are a lot of good electricians out there, I don't think you can do any better than Neely. You won't need to worry about being upsold on products, or badgered about service plans that you will get from the large companies.

Showed up on time, did the repairs, very knowledgeable, and his bill came in LESS than his estimate.
Have already referred him to my neighbor and will certainly call him again when I need electrical services.

Our hot water went out on Saturday morning. After we replaced the timer for the hot water heater, which showed signs of electrical burning, we still had no hot water available. We called Neely Electric that afternoon, and he arrived within the hour. He diagnosed the problem, which was quickly resolved.

Bud responded immediately to my request for estimate and we agreed to a time to meet to look over the proposed project. He came at that time and I found him very easy to communicate with. Although I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, he suggested other alternatives that I hadn't thought of that would work better. After receiving estimates from other Angie's List providers, even though he was roughly the same as the others, I went with Bud because I found him so responsive and easy to get along with. On the date of providing the service, Bud's partner Bob and James (the apprentice), showed up on time and went to work. The project was complicated by having to drill through concrete and run conduit a bit differently than anticipated, as well as the house having a flat roof, but Bob did a magnificent job of completing the project to my satisfaction, AND the final charge was less than the estimate. All contacts with this company's representatives was very positive and they handled themselves professionally. I would definitely hire them again and recommend other Angie's members give them a call.

Very well done, quickly checked out all problem electric in a thorough and timely manner. They repaired the items that could be repaired at the moment and gave me an estimate for the extensive work that needs to be done by my landlord. Very detailed and professional.

He came out and diagnosed the problem as needing two new receptacles. He showed my husband ( who is not-so electrically knowledgeable) how the receptacles were melted and left the removed recepticals where I could see them. So when I got home from work later that evening, my husband showed me ( as I can sometimes be skeptical), and I could see the evidence was clear. Neely fixed the outlet for no additional charge above the house visit charge. It's been about six weeks since, and the outlet still works well with the microwave running.

My mother is in her late 80's and I my wife and I are out of state for the summer, so I needed someone to help her out with misc things like broken light fixtures, installing an irrigation clock, replacing cords, etc... just a series of misc things she needed done. I have used Bud in the past and found him to be a gentleman, and a reliable electrician.... that has done good work for me for a fair price. He made it to my mother's home in 2 days, and was incredibly cordial, respectful, and took care of all of the things she needed done for a very fair price. We are really impressed with this guy. If you have the need for an honest and reliable electrician, contact Neely Electric... you can do no better.

We hired an electrician to install a combo light/exhaust fan in our master bathroom after we got started doing it ourselves and ran into questions about the wiring. We called and had an appointment within a week, which was nice. The process took 45 minutes but they charged for the hour, which was not a problem. I felt the price was fair.
The provider installed the fan, all the while making editorial comments about how this was so easy and we could have done it ourselves and how it was not really his job to cut the one inch of drywall to expand the hole for the new fan and oh, did he mention how we should have just done this ourselves because it was so easy?
When I hire a professional to do a job, it's because I'm not confident in my knowledge or skill to do it properly. That's why I hire a professional. I don't want to hear how I should be able to do it myself. I consider that behavior unprofessional and, frankly, demeaning.
Apparently the previous exhaust fan didn't have a duct providing ventilation from the fan to the exterior of the house. So after installation, we were instructed to buy a length of ducting, crawl up in the attic and attach the ducting to the fan. The provider was nice enough to leave us a length of the UL-rated tape to secure the duct to the fan so we wouldn't need to buy a whole roll ourselves.
But we were frustrated that "this was so easy" and yet we were left to finish the project ourselves. Getting up into the attic subsequently caused damage to our ceiling, which meant we then had to remove the fan from the bathroom side, attach the ducting and replace the fan again. We felt like it was almost pointless to spend money for the install when we ended up undoing, and then redoing, what had been done.
Now we are in a position of needing to hire someone else to repair the ceiling and properly secure the ducting via the attic. We understand the ceiling repair is not Neely's responsibility, because it is damage we caused ourselves, but it would not have occurred had the job been left for us to do.
I called Neely Electric a few days later to update and discuss. Bud explained duct work is not within the scope of their services, and while we understand that, further arrangements or a referral should have been made to finish the job. "This is so easy you can do it yourself" is not always an acceptable answer. I was eventually satisfied that Bud understood my concerns, but we will not be using their services again.

Response from NEELY ELECTRIC
"The member was not home when the work was completed, her husband was. He was fine with the idea of attaching the duct work and said so. Bob explained what needed to be done and why we do not do that type of work. We completed the work outlined by her husband to his satisfaction. The $60 charge included 15 minutes of drive time and is the minimum we charge.."

This was a fantastic experience. Bud answered the phone on my first call, and scheduled an appointment for one week later. I didn't get an email confirming the date and time, but who knows what could have happened there, regardless, Bob showed up at 8am, ready to go, and got right to work.
Bob asked lots of questions about what I was wanting, how I wanted it done, and making sure he understood why I was doing it and what we needed. The only point of confusion came in that I was expecting 4 110V outlets, and 1 switch, but because I have a tendency to anticipate questions/comments, Bob thought I meant 4 pair of outlets like you see on the wall normally. Suffice to say, I was happy with that mistake, and Bob easily adapted when I asked to put in an extra switch to accommodate the change.
I was charged a little more than I was quoted over the phone, but they said it was because of the more expensive circuit breakers. I have no reason to doubt them on it, especially since Bud had to bring them out to us as Bob did not have them.
Needless to say, I was happy with the price, the service and the professionalism. I will gladly use Neely again when I need more electrical work.
