Mountainside Fitness Centers - Scottsdale

I have been a member at this location for just short of a year. Previous to this gym I belonged to the Balley's club on Shea Blvd for a little over 6 years, until it closed. Then I was a member at Gold's Gym on Northsite for approximately 3 years. I switched to Mountainside because it is much closer to my home. Seeing as I am a regular gym goer I had no problem signing an 18 month contract. HUGE mistake. This club is the filthiest gym I’ve ever attended. At every club I have been a member of, you would see cleaning people at ALL times walking around and cleaning the equipment. I have never seen an employee of this gym clean any equipment or the ladies locker room. They do have disinfectant wipes in at least 3 locations thru out the gym, and they are always stocked. But I have never seen a member, besides myself use them. Before I would use any machine I would wipe it down. The machines were so dirty some would require 2 disinfectant wipes. They would change the color of the wipes from bright white to brown from the dirty sweat. But today was beyond reason. The very first machine I walked up to had a large amount of blood smeared on it. Not just a drop or two that would be easy to miss. What I saw was on the weights where you put the pin in. After seeing this I did not inspect the machine for more, I was disgusted and went to the front desk for a manger. After pointing out the blood, I took him around to a few random machines that I could see were filthy and wiped them down in his presence so he could see the filth. He apologized. I watched him walk over and send a kid from the desk to wipe up the blood that I pointed out. They did not inspect any of the other machines for blood, nor did they clean the other obviously filthy machines. The kid went back behind the desk to talk with a girl, who made it a point to let me see her rolling her eyes at me, and resumed folding towels and chatting. When I pointed out to the manager, Quinn that the other machines need to be inspected and wiped down, he explained the folding towels was more important. Completely clueless. He said they have a night cleaning crew Monday thru Thursday but not on the weekends. I am still stunned.

When I told the little girl and Quinn I wanted to cancel my membership they quite gleefully explained that I had 6 months remaining on my contract that I had to pay. I am going to call their corporate offices on Monday to pay off this contract. The great thing about having money is you can use it to make Filthy, Ignorant, Low Lifes to just go away. And it will be Money well spent.

Stephanie is my trainer and I think she's awesome. In fact, have had a really good experience with all the trainers I have used there. The facility is clean, upbeat, and the people at the front desk are friendly. There is ample parking and trainers are really good.

This is close to where I live, the rates are pretty low for it and I like the facilities.

I love the classes. They have a lot of equipments. It's clean. Never have to wait there. They have the latest traits. I would use them in the future.

I have been a memeber at Mountainside Fitness for almost 3 years. I workout about 5 days a week and use every aspect of the club. The club is clean, service is friendly, machines are maintained, and the classes are great. I have two childern that love the kids club. They have different daily events. They provide a parents night out once a month where you can drop off your childern (for much less then a babysitter) and go out to dinner. We use this service all the time, it is every third Saturday night from 4:30-9:00pm. They also do mom's lunch where the kids can stay over lunch while you run erronds. This is every few weeks. We have also found our babysitters working in the daycare at Mountainside. What a great place to find babysitters, they love kids! I also take most of the classes. They have a group fitness room, spinning and mind body room. The instructors are great, keep it interesting and you feel like you are part of a group. When I moved to the area 6 years ago, I checked a few different health clubs. Mountainside for me was the perfect fit for price and amenities.

The instructors and trainers are professionals. Sometimes the popular or evening classes can fill up quickly. The equipment is clean and updated. Having individual TVs for every training machine is great!

THIS IS A BRAND NEW FITNESS FACILITY THAT JUST OPENED IN NORTH SCOTTSDALE. IT IS VERY CLEAN AND STATE OF THE ART. IT IS LOCATED BY SHEA AND FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD IS THEIR PROMPTNESS IN RETURNING CALLS.

THIS FABULOUS NEW FITNESS FACILITY OPENED RECENTLY IN NORTH SCOTTSDALE. IT HAS A BASKETBALL COURT, AS WELL AS, ALL TYPES OF EXERCISE CLASSES, INCLUDING YOGA. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
