They are horrible. on 1/8/21 - I received a quote from Dwayne Stephens of Clear Choice/Bath Planet for a remodel of the master shower. I had told Mr. Stephens that I wanted to pay cash. He pushed a 6.99 financing rate and advised I could make an initial payment then transfer it. I started receiving invoices from Mosaic, before any work was started, with a due date of the 5th of the month. I called and asked them to move the payment due date to the 15th of the month as I pay my mortgage and HOA fees on the 4th of each month. They would not, they simply said it was a grace period. Well I do not manage my bills but going into a "grace period". The terms of the loan were 6.99% if they pulled the funds via bank draft. I cancelled that draft as there was no work being done on my shower. They immediately raised the rate to 7.24%. I did now want to be stuck with a loan for 5 years so I started making an additional $500 per month payment. ironically they charged 10% interest as soon as I started making the additional payments. Also, In their site, each extra payment is not counted as a payment. At this point, there has been no one in my home working to finish the shower since Jan22. Dalton Fulks (Clear Choice/Bath Planet) came in 28Mar22. He agreed that the walls and glass for the shower was done incorrectly and that he would order more. He has not called, emailed or text with any status. I have contact Mosaic to stop the payments until the work starts. They will not. So, this will go into default, destroy my credit, all because I was forced by Dewayne Stephens of Clear Choice to put the financing on Mosaic. I want to stop the payments until work resumes. If ever it does I will pay cash as originally planned. I want the interest on the extra payments I made to be lowered and I will pay Clear Choice if the work resumes. If not, I am not going to pay on a loan where the vendor has defaulted.
