 + -1 moreI've been to many doctors over the years but have never had such a great experience that I had at both Mayo Clinics.
Description of Work: My original appointment was for several issues that caused me to see 3 specialists, all of whom were excellent. They were all very thorough, yet didn't send me for unnecessary tests. They are the only doctors that thought to test me for Celiac, which after blood work and an endoscopy showed that was one of my biggest problems. The treatment for that alone has changed my life dramatically for the better.

 + -1 moreThey have a hospital in Phoenix, and a clinic in Scottsdale. One of the reasons that I moved here, was because they are here. They could use a lot of help administratively, but I like the doctors. They are very qualified. I have been going to them for 15 years. I have had 3 cancers and I am a heart patient. Their hospital is rated number 1 in Arizona. Once you are a patient, the availability is better than if you are new. They are pretty good about punctuality compared to most others.
Description of Work: I use Mayo Clinic Scottsdale for everything. My last visit was 2 weeks ago, and I will be going back on Tuesday. I have the shingles at the moment.

 + -1 moreIt went great. Very positive experience. Billing and Admin was given a B because the paper work they gave me implied I was required to fast for blood work. But there was no blood work.
Description of Work: Had an appointment for a second opinion on more advanced treatment. Outstanding experience! Great environment. Nicest hospital and exam room I've ever been in. Great communication from the Dr. Thorough, simple, clear. Lots of time to ask questions, but he answered them all before I got to them. I completely trust the Dr and the facility after my apppointment

 + -1 moreI guess that because the chest X-ray did not show anything new and my husband's blood work was "normal", and they didn't order any new tests to be done, the diagnosis was missed altogether and it shouldn't have been missed. My husband's symptoms continued and became worse before we finally had a second CT of the chest done. Mayo is usually good at finding things that other physicians miss, but this time they didn't do enough to find out the why my husband was having the pain and other symptoms that he had been having for over 5 months.
Description of Work: Looking for a diagnosis for my husband's illness. I brought previous reports and CD'S with previous diagnostic scan's and tests with me but wish that I had not do so. The previous tests were done in March/April of 2013 and nothing was repeated or checked except for a chest X-ray. I had previous reports and the X-rays for Mayo to compare the new ones to. Had I not brought any thing with us and just let Mayo doctors order and redo the tests they needed his multiple myeloma may have been diagnosed sooner. Mayo sent us home with nothing to new but within 45 days of being at Mayo, our PCP did order a second CT scan and that is when the myeloma was seen. We could have started treatment much earlier if Mayo would have ordered the CT scan in July. So the "dos" I would suggest is not to bring any old tests with you when you go for a work-up. Let the doctors there at Mayo order what they want based on the signs and symptoms you give them.

 + -1 moreVery punctual. Everyone used my last name : Ms.. or Mr.... Mayo Clinic has timing and how to process thru all the offices down pat. Very little waiting time, nurse must have spent at least 15 minutes with me and the physician spent at least 30. Very thorough exam

 + 1 moreThis is the best hospital I have ever been to. It is super clean and very well organized. If my appointment is at 9am, they call me in at 9am, no waiting. Finally, a hospital that recognizes that my time is valuable as well. Every visit and procedure I have had at the Mayo Clinic went much better than I ever would have expected. The doctors are trustworthy and friendly. I feel like I am always in good hands at the Mayo Clinic.

 + -1 moreThe Mayo Clinic is run like a machine. It is awesome. The doctors coordinate with each other beautifully and it is all done electronically. They coordinate all of their appointments and the scheduling is superior. I cannot say enough about how great they are. It is the best place to go if you need a new physician.

 + -1 moreDr. Draz is an excellent physician. He just exudes wisdom and competence. He is very personable, and reassuring when it is appropriate, but thorough, and careful to address the issues that I feel were important for me, even if they might not be medically serious or concerning. He is careful not to over-prescribe medications. He has a very healthy bias against unnecessary and potentially problem-causing medicines and procedures. I think he strikes an excellent balance between providing the best of modern medicine, but not over-doing it, and causing more problems than when you started. He spent an entire hour with me and my husband, and we never felt rushed or pressured to go, so he could move on to his next patient.
Description of Work: Follow-up of a seizure disorder.

I had received a call one evening at around 8pm and one of our Drs was wanting to let us know about some other possible causes for some symptoms my wife was experiencing. They are very personable and we have been happy with them giving us recommendations for the past 20+ years.

 + -1 moreEverything was perfect, and very, very positive! Thy sent all of the date out ahead of time. Tell them all your needs, and they will all record it on the computer so you don't have to repeat that hundreds of times. The appointments were always right on time, and you never have to wait. You see the doctor when you're supposed to see the doctor. My surgery was done and completed. I was out of there in about an hour. Everything was great, and I would recommend anybody that needs surgery or any kind of eye care to go there.

 + 1 moreI've been going to them for years and I go to the same internist since 1988 and I have no complaint with anything. I've had serious problems like cancer and things like that and I just think they give excellent care. They are very responsive and answers my questions. Everybody is punctual and courteous. When I went for my eye problem, everybody went above and beyond to see what was wrong with my vision. They gave me addresses for different places to look for a product for my vision. They even stepped out to suggest me a place that would be financially advantageous for me.
Description of Work: I go-to Mayo Clinic for primary care. I also went there for eye care and cancer care.
