Had to purchase a new console cover which was not cheap. Also my clothes dryer was not heating and he pulled off the wrong part on it, Second man caught that mistake and I canceled the order in time and ordered the correct part.

The company returned my call promptly and came out - the first time - on February 5. The two gentlemen indicated that they had identified the problem, replaced a small valve, and re-filled the refrigerant. The refrigerator worked fine for several weeks, and then once again quit cooling. This time the workman identified the problem as a "1-in-a-100" problem - a leak in the coil - and ordered a new one and refilled with refrigerant on the supposition that it would last for another few weeks. It did not. Two days after the second call, the refrigerator was warm again, and this time on a weekend. The repair man returned on Monday morning, spent over an hour isolating the problem, and repaired it - a leak in a copper pipe. After a week the refrigerator is still cooling, and we have high hopes that third time was the charm. Lewis never charged me after the original visit, and the workman clearly felt responsible for not properly diagnosing the problem on the first or second visit. But there was considerable inconvenience, especially the third time when the problem occurred on a weekend. We had to throw out most of the food in the refrigerator and move all of the freezer items to a second storage freezer that we have. And both my wife and I work, so being at home three times during the day was not convenient either.

Al arrived, as scheduled on Oct. 23rd, and after pulling the MW oven and hearing my description of what happened, he metered several contact measurement points and determined he didn't have all the necessary replacement parts. He returned, as promised on Oct. 24th, and replaced a thermal T-stat and fuse holder, tested the unit successfully, and reinstalled the MW oven. He also spent some time with me on the steps to take when one or both units required replacement. Coffee water now hot!

At 7:30 in the morning the lady at Lewis Appliances called to set up an appointment. I said, as early as possible, and she asked if 10 o' clock would be OK. You bet it would. Two guys -- John (Giovanni) and Don -- showed up at 9:30 and got straight to work. First, they stripped out the fridge and freezer (laying everything neatly on the counter) and showed me the damage, explaining what had to be done. Within an hour they had hand-defrosted the machine and replaced all the parts in the broken defrost system with new. Within 90 minutes they had closed it all up and put all the frozen and refrigerated foods back inside. Aside from the fact that this appliance has worked perfectly since then, there was nothing to show that they had ever been there. Three person-hours labor; three brand-new parts (thermostat, coil, timer), and no mess, all for under $300?? What a deal!! These are definitely my new guys for appliance repair.

We came home from work to discover that our side-by-side refrigerator wasn't cooling. We found Lewis Appliance Service on Angie's list. The company is located near our home and the reviews were great. Because it was after hours, we left a phone message. The next morning. I called the company at 7:50, 10 minutes before they opened. The employee who answered told me that someone would be out sometime in the morning. I told him that I could only be home until 10:00. He told me that his guy would be out by 9:00. A few minutes later, he called back and told me his guy was on his way. A few minutes after that, two guys arrived. The quickly found the problem and fixed it. Besides being prompt and efficient, they were very courteous. A few minutes after the guys left, their office called returning the message that we had left the previous evening. I explained that the guys had already fixed the problem and that I was very impressed with the service.

Replacement of the ice maker and water line kept the freezer from overflowing again. The repairmen were polite and professional. Without my asking, they even tried to repair the freezer door that did not close properly. Unfortunately, the latter repair had unforeseen consequences as this may have been the reason that after they left, the new ice maker failed to produce any ice. When I called the office back the next day, they immediately scheduled an appointment for the repair team to come out again. A new ice maker was installed, but once again no ice was produced. When I called the office to let them know this, the repair team promptly came out again and assessed that the door not closing properly was the problem rather than the ice-maker. They came up with a temporary fix for the door, told me they needed to order a part for a permanent fix and would call me when the part came in. In the interim the temporary fix did the trick and I've had ice ever since. In addition, the door closes much better than ever before. Even though it sounds like it took them longer than expected to make the repair, I was quite pleased at their responsiveness and desire to fix the problem no matter what it took to do so.

A repairman (named either Frank or Al; see below) showed up within the scheduled appointment window. In attempting to remove the oven from the wall for inspection and repair, a problem developed. A heavy, mastic-like material was used on the oven-surround when the house originally was built, covering two of the four mounting bolts which had to be removed. It looked as if the oven could not be removed without some likely damage to the wall (more than just cosmetic). It was decided that two repairmen (Frank AND Al) would return Monday, 22, Oct., to try and remove the oven with minimal wall damage. Frank and Al showed up, as scheduled, 10/22 and wrestled with the oven, cutting through the mastic-like material on the oven-surround with considerable difficulty, leaving only a few nicks and smudges on the wall. Repairs to the microwave oven, after removal, went quickly, a blown fuse and a faulty switch, both of which were replaced. The oven was reinstalled and wall smudges cleaned up.

After calling, it only took them a couple days to come and check out my oven which was not heating up. The serviceman had figured out the problem quickly and said it needed a part which needed to be ordered and that while the part was expensive, it would be cheaper than getting a new over by quite a bit. Then I did not hear back from them for over a week. I called to see what was going on and it they said they had called, spoken to someone, and were waiting for a reply. They must have called the wrong number because I never got this message. Once that was straightened out they came out and fixed the oven in under an hour. I would be willing to use them again, I just hope next time we don't have the communication problems. They get a B because it took so long, otherwise they were great. Oh, and the part was $300, $60 to install it, and $40 for the initial visit.

The appliance repairman, Al, arrived precisely on time. He inspected the dryer and determined within minutes what the problem was. He replaced the broken fuse and completed the job within ten minutes. He also suggested that I get the exhaust flue cleaned as it goes directly to the roof and it has a lot of lint in the bottom, resulting in the dryer not working to full capacity and costing me more in electricity. He doesn't do that work and had no one to refer me to someone, so it was purely informational, not ''selling me up''. I called my out-of-state landlord to have him give a credit card number for billing. Al spoke with my landlord and was very professional.

The receptionist was very helpful when I called. The workman was pleasant & gave me some tips on how to try to fix the problem myself. Also gave an idea of cost if it became a problem again.

WORKMAN'S NAME WAS AL. HE DID NOT HAVE PARTS, AND DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE SERVICE CALL. HE IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK TO STORE, THEY ORDERED THE PART, IT ARRIVED IN UNDER A WEEK, AND THEY RESCHEDULED PROMPTLY. WE HAD THEM COME BACK LATER ON TO DO ANOTHER JOB, BECAUSE THEY DID SUCH A GOOD JOB OF ORDERING THE PARTS AND RESCHEDULING AND REPAIR. IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH NOW, AND ALL IS STILL WORKING WELL. I AM SATISFIED WITH THE EXPERIENCE
