Kadair Landscaping Inc

Kadair's Landscaping representative, Steve Kalani, left a flyer on my door. Kadair's was offering a special and I made an appt. Steve came out and looked at the place. We agreed Kadair's would do the work - he wanted half of the money, but I had to ask for a receipt and asked that he copy our agreement - he didn't have the ability to print out the contract. Steve came out again and the drawing he did was not to scale, the pool was drawn in with East - West orientation rather than a North-South. Plants were not placed in the drawing - there was essentially NO design service. Steve could not tell me about the sizes of plants or their water usage. When the job began, I felt rushed, I had to go to a nursery to talk with someone knowledgeable about plants. Kadair's installed a patio extension, it has about a 3/4 inch dip and retains water. They installed 2 24-inch box trees and did not stake them. I told them to stake one, but I provided the stakes and wire. The didn't install the fence or rip rap to the agreed upon specifications - and told me they way they did it looked better, ignoring the functionality that I had explained was needed-the rip rap was a wash for the pool backwash and the fence ledge was to be wide enough to place potted plants on. I had to withhold a portion of the final payment to ensure they would come back and make the repairs. They installed the incorrect tree and insulted me and told me that I must be smoking funny cigarettes. Steve refused to look into this and told me it was the correct tree (he was with me when I selected it.) The nursery had made an error and wrote Desert Willow instead of Desert Acacia - if you know these trees one is a large shrub or small tree, the other is about a 30-40 foot tree-and Steve or Roy couldn't tell the difference!!! I had to go to the nursery and resolve the problem-all Kadair's did was insult me. The plants have a guarantee on them, one died and the drip system isn't working properly in some areas. The granite is so thin in areas that when I walk on it, dirt appears. I've contacted Steve at Kadair's on 11/24/2009 and was told someone would call me that day, no one did. I've called several other times over the next three weeks. Each time Steve tells me that he told Roy to call me, Roy is in Louisiana and I can expect a call in a day or two-I never get a return call. I've also completed the service request form on the Kadair's website (also on 11/24/2009) and have not received a response to my service request as of 12/15/2009. Essentially, there have been problems with everything Kadair's has done except the sidewalk on the side of the house.
