I brought in a new piece of artwork to have Designer Art Direct do a custom frame to match 4 other similar pieces in my collection. My requirement was very simple, the new frame must exactly match the frames of my existing artwork (a very common 1and quot; black metal frame). The sales lady was very friendly and like other custom framing stores, they had sample stock from which to choose from. We were able to find the matching stock and I left my new piece to be framed along with one of my existing pieces with them for comparison. When I went to pick up my newly framed piece, I was disappointed to discover that they had framed the artwork in a 3/4and quot; frame instead of the desired 1and quot; frame. After a quick conversation with the owner, (who said she wanted to do everything she could to make it right), they promised to reframe the artwork in the correct 1and quot; frame and have it back to me in just a couple of days. I am happy to say that they did indeed reframe the piece in the correct frame an got it back to me in just a few days as promised. I am now very happy with the result. The only issue I have with them is their pricing. I rated them fair on price because they claim to have a 50% pricing discount on their custom framing, which they do, but on what I consider to be overly inflated base prices. Even after the discount I still paid a little over $350.00 to frame a 24and quot; x 36and quot; print in a simple black metal frame with glare proof glass. I ended up having to pay them the higher pricing because I couldn't find anyone else in the Valley who could match my existing frame. I gave them an overall rating of good instead of excellent because they had to redo the job, (which they did without a hassle). I rated the quality good instead of excellent because they neglected to put wall pads on the lower corners of the frame to protect the wall as the picture hangs on it. These protectors cost pennies and are expected on any custom framing job. I rated them excellent on responsiveness and professionalism because their staff was great to work with and they did right by me in the end.
