I've finally found an great electrician! Bill has been great to work with over the past few months. He is honest, incredibly experienced/knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. After Bill worked on our first project installing new canned lights and ceiling fans on our remodeled patio, I kept finding new projects for him to help me with as we continue to remodel our house. I've had him help me replace some exterior lighting, swap out a bunch of old exterior sockets, and rewire some questionable work from prior contractors and me. I now have him helping me rewire our pool equipment. It's great to have an electrician that I trust and who knows what he is doing. I was tired of working with companies who send out a different electrician every visit - some who were good and some not so good.

Bill is great. He is very knowledgeable and efficient.

It didn't take long, and it looks and works great. Note: I first hired Bill Nichols of Electric Solutions in late 2012 to install additional lighting on my patio. Since then, I have had Bill back five more times to perform other small electrical jobs. They included: installing exterior motion-detecting Security lights, trouble-shooting some lighting problems caused by water, replacing ceiling light fixtures, and moving an electrical outlet. Bill has always done a very professional job and his pricing is reasonable. I have recommended him to others who needed electrical work performed.

Bill Nichols is a genuine professional. He is on-time, affordable, meticulous, honest, highly skilled and able to problem solve difficult and complex electrical challenges. He always discussed unusual electrical issues with us, offering advice to help us make knowledgeable, affordable decisions..He comes prepared to work, often working through lunch. His truck is well stocked with ladders, tools and supplies and he takes care to clean up at the end of each work day. Bill has a good eye for potential problems. He found multiple hazardous situations left by others as he worked on our house. For example: While working on a project in our garage, he noticed that the wiring on our solar hot water heater was incorrect. The heater was installed by a trained professional but it was not done correctly. The grounding wire was used as a conductor. The wire gauge was not large enough to carry the load, frayed 30-year-old wire had been reused rather than replaced, and water had leaked onto bare electrical wires. Bill's knowledge of the electrical code is superior. He's also knowledgeable about home building design over the course of years in Phoenix. (Our house is an older ranch style built in 1970 with an unusual attic structure and some plumbing running across the attic floor. It also has an Arizona room that had once been an open porch, so the walls are slump block making new electrical installations a challenge.) His experience with these structures was very helpful for planning the layout of new fixtures. While working on our electrical improvements, he noticed a roof problem and a lack of insulation in sections of our attic where we thought insulation had been blown in. Of course these are not within his scope of work but we appreciated the heads-up. (It was like a free home inspection!) This was our first experience with Bill Nichols but he will be our go-to person for all future electrical needs and we will certainly recommend Bill Nichols to our neighbors, friends and family who are not on Angies' List. A highly skilled, conscientious, tradesman with a strong work ethic and personal integrity is very hard to find in the Phoenix metro area.

Work was done quickly and exactly as we needed. Provided advice when there were alternate solutions. Minimized cuts into sheetrock during installations. Adept at solving wiring mystery. Cleaned up at the end of work day. Always showed up promptly at agreed on time. Pleasant to work with. I will hire him again. In fact, I plan to do so as soon as new ceiling fans are delivered.

I have used Electric Solutions for various projects over the years and can't believe I have not yet reviewed Bill's work. I hire an electrician based on his electrical skills and pricing. Bill has over 35 years of electrical experience working both commercial and residential. I have used Bill from Electric Solutions for several years for various projects around the house as well as recommended him to several friends and neighbors. Everyone I know has always been pleased with the quality of his work as well as his pricing. There has been nothing I have asked for that he has been unable to tackle. My home was built in the 50's and over the years has had various additions added. While some of the electrical work has been challenging due to age and previous wiring of the home, he is able to handle it all professionally and competently. I like supporting a local small business where the one who comes to do the work is actually the owner and not a subcontractor who has no pride in the business. Booking and timeliness has never been a problem and both Bill and his wife Peggy, who handles scheduling, are both personable and responsive. From other reviews here on Angies's List, it appears 99% of their clients are pleased as well. I highly recommend that you give them a call; you will be happy you did.

Outstanding. They showed up on time did the work super fast and with zero mess. They exceeded all expectations!

I almost skipped writing this because a) I didn't want to think about the whole experience and b) We are moving out of State & I thought...why care? Well, I count on Angie's List to provide me with comprehensive feedback and I have used it a great deal in our new area out-of-state with excellent results. I will not enumerate everything. Summary: Charged a lot for simple repairs, and may have caused an additional problem which he charged for fixing. "Can't prove that it had anything to do with what was done previously" was his statement. Took HOURS trying to figure out what the problem was and kind of Gerry-rigged a solution that we are hoping is code-adherent. Then walked off with our house keys and I had to call him about that, arrange a time for him to come over and then call again when he didn't show up. Was supposed to return on Sat., which he did ultimately, to "continue" the repair and when hours passed on the time he was to be here, we called his office. "Oh! Should have called...Have another job before yours-" Our appt. was for 10:00- He arrived at 1:30. He drives a van which he proudly lets you know "upsets people" and they have "asked him to leave" because of it. This visit I was privy to this advertisement on wheels. You know the drill...Insulting the President, racist rants... The whole back of this substantial vehicle was covered...with intermittent NRA stickers as well. One was "All Muslims are not terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslim." When he didn't show up with our keys when he was supposed to, he said he & the wife were at the "shooting range". lol. Making sure they will be able to ward off all those Muslims descending on America. Ugh.

The fridge in the garage blew out the circuit breaker plug it was plugged into. I called Electric Solutions for help. We couldn't find which plug died! He came on time, found the correct circuit right away, replaced it, added a new plug for the fridge and installed a second circuit breaker in a more convenient spot. Very personable and efficient. Would use again in a heartbeat!

We have used them two or three times. They are great. They did a fantastic job. Their fees were reasonable. We can compare it to people we have used in the past. They are competitive and not lower than the lower. We have used them whenever we needed a personal call. They are very professional and they show up on time. They know exactly what the problems are. They solve the problems. They don't try to charge us for things we don't need. They are very honest.

The removal the old light fixture and re-wired to relocate the new fixture. Had to open the kitchen ceiling and run new wiring. Also had to close the existing opening and electrical box. We were very impressed and if I could I would give Bill an A++. We will definitely use him for all of our electrical needs and recommend to our friends! Thank you Bill!

Bill was extremely nice and caring. The work took a little longer than he estimated up front, but he was very honest and communicated with us regularly and fairly. He was very knowledgable and wanted to make sure everything was completed, worked great, and looked good. He was very thorough and really cared about delivering a good product and customer experience. We would use him again.

I was given an approximate arrival time and Bill showed up exactly then. The task was very problematic. It involved taking down a very involved hanging fixture in order to reach the circuit in question, which was not easy given the character of that lighting. Bill was very careful. The circuit had to then be extended and the new light, which I supplied, had to be installed. It didn't work. Bill patiently weighed into the problem, which turned out to be a defect in one of the parts I had bought and supplied to the project. He was able to fix it so I didn't have to seek a replacement. Once the light was working, bill had only to rehang the original hanging fixture be done with the task. Projector lighting needs to be focused and framed so the light beam exactly fits the painting. It can be surprisingly tricky; I've done it. I was prepared to climb a ladder and do that after Bill left, but he said he didn't want to see me climbing up there killing myself, and he gamely dug into adjusting the light until I was satisfied. All of this debugging and adjusting could have run the bill up, but his bill clearly did not include all the extra effort/time put in. Best of all was Bill's nature. He's a pleasant guy with a nice sense of humor. I would use him again without issue, and I would recommend him to my friends.

Well from the beginning both Peggy and Bill are both gems to talk and deal with. Both are very professional would hire them again for add'l work in future. On the day of the job Bill came on time prepared ready to go. Did what he need to do did not even feel like I had anyone working in the house. Cleaned up after himself. Asked my opinion once ready to hang fixture in foyer. Done in less then 2 1/2 hrs . Thanks Again

I purchased the new switches elsewhere. He provided the labor. We had a dispute. I wanted to pay him more than what he was willing to accept. Yes, that's correct.

He did a great job. Fast, competent and cleaned up afterwords.

The actual cost was less then the estimate and I was very pleased.

Friendly and prompt. service was delayed from original scheduled date because of a conflict with another customer, but this was really not a problem for us. John did exactly what I needed and I am pleased. I will definitely contact him again for future electrical work.

It went just fine. My circuit went out on Sunday evening and did not contact Angie's List until Monday and Electric Solutions arrived on early Tuesday.

We have nothing but the best to say about Bill and Peggy. We have a vacation home, and have to work with an irrational schedule. They have been very flexible and helpful to us. We originally contacted Bill because we were concerned about the condition of the wiring in the house. He did his inspection, made recommendations, and then did those for us. We later decided we wanted additional outdoor lighting, and he installed that in August. He came back at least once to troubleshoot the motion-sensitive light he installed. He also installed a new outlet in the laundry room, which was a last-minute decision on our part. Bill is extremely trustworthy! We will definitely use him again if the need arises.

Bill is great. Very good at what he does and very knowledgeable. Also gave us some very good advice on other electrical issue that could be a problem. I recommend him highly, and have since hired him to do some work for some residential properties I manage. You can not go wrong with Electrical Solutions and Bill.

The electrician came at the time he said he would arrive, it took the amount of time he projected and the cost was exactly as quoted. He was extremely professional and explained what needed to be done, how it was going to be done and why. In addition, he cleaned up the area and left it as it was before he arrived after the job was finished. I will recommend Electric Solutions to my family and friends for future electrical needs.
