We have lived here in Arizona for over 30 years, and we have two lovely daughters. Charles has been involved in the roofing industry for 25 years, having worked his way up from an installer to owner. There are a lot of unlicensed and uninsured contractors in the state of Arizona. Homeowners must protect themselves by demanding proof of a contractor's license and most importantly, their proof of insurance. Workmen's compensation and liability insurance is expense in Arizona. Refused to perform warranty work and denied I timely contacted him even though I had left a specific voicemail regarding date and time (warranty still had remaining time) and denied it had even rained when Weather Bureau shows over 1.5 inches of rain that caused the leak.. Warranty work was for a scupper that had leaked several times and the owner had come out and patched but should have been replaced from the beginning. Initial work was sloppy and had to constantly remind him and his crew to do things. I would not recommend Crown Roofing.

The job was performed as scheduled. I feel like Charles' crew were experienced and knew exactly what to do. They arrived on time and worked a full day from the first day to the last. They did a reasonable job of cleaning up around the work area.
My negative points are the Charles was pretty much incommunicado during the entire process. I had not posted a review until now because I am satisfied with the work performed.
Recently (around the middle of June) I had occasion to contact Charles Antonowicz, the owner, because I had a tile that was sliding off the roof. I wanted him to secure the single tile that was loose. In the same email I told him I was interested in new Gutters and Downspouts for our front entryway. After about 10 days and having not received a response from Charles I sent another email. He emailed me back saying he would contact me the following week. It is now September 18th, 2015 and I'm still waiting. However I fixed the loose tile myself (I hope) and had another company install the gutters and downspouts.

Charles, the owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He provided a written estimate and finished the job on time and on budget. His crew did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. I would not hesitate to recommend them and use Crown Roofing again.

Charles is a quality roofer. He knows his business and his workers are top notch. I have no complaints with the work he did on my personal house as his crew did a great job at a reasonable price. Since he replaced my roof I have tried to have him do repairs on a couple of rental houses. On one house Charles, said that he would have the repairs done, but they never were and I had to hire another company to do the job for $900. On the second house Charles inspected the roof and sent me three pictures of problem areas. I didn't hear from him after that, so I contacted him. He said he would send an estimate five days ago, but no estimate so far. I was trying to make Crown Roofing my go to roofing company as I have multiple properties and need someone who will follow through with what they say they are going to do. It appears that some contractors forget that some customers also run a business and have to plan, organize and schedule the same as they do. If you want a complete re-roofing done, Crown does a great job, but Charles can leave you hanging. I'll never understand why some contractors have such poor and unprofessional communications. Unfortunately, I liked working with Charles, but will be moving onto another company that I can count on.

On initial contact I explained that two roof tiles were missing and would need to be replaced. In addition, several loose tiles would need to be reattached. Charles was able to stop by that day to inspect the job and note the color/style of the existing tile so that he could get replacement tiles. He completed the repair a few days later. He also located and replaced another missing tile on the opposite side of the house that my husband forgot to tell me about - thus saving me from having to make another service call! Thanks Charles, would definitely recommend you and/or do business again.

The inspection included walking the roof, straightening a couple tiles, inside ceilings, eaves and a walk around the house. He provided much-needed advice for the future. He did not find anything that required replacement or maintenance at this time. Charles was courteous and friendly and prompt.

Charles Antonowicz and his team at Crown Roofing did an excellent job installing my new roof. When I first contacted him for an estimate he arrived the very next day, on time, and was very clear about the best way to proceed and what I should expect. He projected that we would begin in about two weeks and that is exactly when work began. His team was on time every day, much quieter than I expected, worked diligently, and completed the job and clean-up in four and a half days, just as Charles projected. Every time I called him with a question he answered the phone personally and always had an answer for me. The roof turned out great. I would recommend Crown Roofing without reservation.

Charles knows roofing and gave me a quote on only what needed to be fixed. They showed up on time and finished when they said they would and did a great job. My other quotes wanted to replace 1/2 my roof or repair areas that did not leak and were higher. I found him to be very matter of fact and strictly business. He was a little slow to get back to me with a quote and he won't win a popularity contest, but he will win 1st place for repairing roofs since he is the best I have found! Best job for the best price! I highly recommend Crown Roofing!

Charles was able to come by the same day I called. After surveying the problem he gave a thorough explanation of what would be needed to fix the leak. He was very professional and straightforward. I immediately had the sense that there was only one way he would do things - the right way and felt very comfortable with having his company do the work. We were able to schedule the work for the next day and they arrived on time and proceeded to get right to it - no lost motion. I will say I initially thought the price was a tad high, but in roofing (as is the case in many trades) what you are paying for is knowledge - not necessarily effort. Charles has a very large amount of knowledge and was onsite overseeing the work. So I did feel comfortable with the price overall. We have had one large rain since the work was done and all seems to be dry!

The owner and his workers arrived precisely on time. They explained the work they would be doing and then did it. They went above and beyond the call of duty by replacing the skylight coverings because they wanted to be sure they were sealed/solid and new. The billing was precisely what had been estimated. arrived on time and jumped right in to look at the work. Was able to put a ladder and take a look right away and do the repair necessary immediately as the tiles were not broken. He was in and out in 30 min.

About a year later I contacted the owner regarding a roof leak on my patio. After several attempts he failed to reply or respond. He had no interest in repairing the patio roof leak although he replaced the entire roof a year before. The owner was a referral from a close friend of mine and I thought he would go out of his way to help me. Surpisingly I was wrong. The roof is still leaking and I am still frustrated. I don't have the time to pursue this so hopefully my comments will make someone think twice or cause this owner to step up and repair the problem. I would be happy to report it was resolved.

"Member's roof was completed in March 2010 not Sept 2011. Member has not contacted us regarding a leak in any portion of the roof that we did. Member was given a 5 year workmanship warranty. Again he has never contacted us regarding a warranty issue with his roof. His roof did not cost $11,000, it cost him $7,895. We were not a member of Angie's List at that time. Every item listed in the contract was completed. Member had a major problem with a bee hive under the decking at one eave. We referred him to a bee expert to have the hive removed. We repaired the wood in the area after he was done. Member has a concrete balcony deck with stucco parapet walls that has issues. We do not work on concrete balcony decks and informed Member of this. So for Member to post these comments 3 years after his roof was done just because he found out we were listed on Angie's List is completely uncalled for. I will gladly go out on any leak he has in any portion of the roof we did."

I liked the estimate; it was right in line. I liked the fact that he seemed very knowledgeable about the fact of what I needed and wanted. The crew showed up pretty much on time. They did a quick tearoff. They did a very good job and did an extremely good cleanup. There were a couple of odds and ends but overall it was extremely good. The owner was out, especially on the second day to make sure that everything was being done the way it was supposed to be.

THey were punctual, professional, came with a big crew and worked very efficiently. Mr. Antonowicz was hands on, took photos for me for documentation, provided professional references and insurance information. They also gave me an estimate for new roof, tile and flat, which were very detailed and reasonable compared with other bids. Although currently the replacement is held up due to the case w the ROC, I plan to use them for my future roofing needs.
