Description of Work: I have a 5 year old Sony Vaio, and was in need of someone to help me clear space on the hard drive, and clean up any viruses or malware, that had unintentionally crept into the system. I have Norton Antivirus, but since I I travel all over the world, and use this laptop on the road, I still noticed things showing up in my files, and the laptop performing functions I was not initiating, especially in China. I was searching Angie's List for reputable and recommended companies, and had copied the names of several highly rated Companies, intending to research and compare for myself. As luck would have it, Fedex arrived to deliver a package, and rang my doorbell. In answering the bell, I discovered a flyer hanging on the door for Computer Gurus, an Angie's List A-rated company, which was one that I had intended to research. Although they did not have the number of reviews that other Companies had, they were rated high, and I thought Id give them a try. Alex, the owner, made an appointment to pick up my laptop. He arrived at my home, IN A TIMELY FASHION and told me it would take 2-3 days. We discussed some options for adding a larger hard drive, and the cost if he was unable to clear enough space, along with the cost for the "cleanup." He was very friendly, and very professional. Two days later (a Saturday) Alex called and told me the laptop was ready. When he delivered it, he showed me how much space he had cleared and said that he didn't think a larger hard drive would be necessary. I paid $120 and was thrilled with the much faster performance of my laptop. I need some work on my desk top, but will be relocating soon, and I will use Computer Gurus again, for that project, as soon as I am settled.

Description of Work: I had a problem with my HP printer. I could not get an old job out of the HP memory. I called Alex and he came out with in a few days of me calling him. It took him no time what so ever to solve my printer issue. He then spent time with me on how to add pictures to a flash drive memory stick.

Description of Work: Alex is the epitome of professionalism. He certainly knows what he is doing and educates you while doing it. Very punctual with returning calls and shows up on time. I have used him a few other times. A definite keeper!

Description of Work: Alex did a great job repairing my computer from a virus. He also did some other work that has my computer working better than ever. He was very professional and his work exceeded my expectations. I would definitely call him again.

Description of Work: Laptop wasn't working. I thought it was the back light but Alex discovered it was something else (all on his own), ordered the part & repaired it. Also, he picked up my laptop & brought it back home @ no charge.

Description of Work: It was a couple of days before Thanksgivivg and my internet went down. I call Cox Communication and they said my modem was working OK and it must be my router. I needed to get my video chat/email working right away so I could communicated with friends and family via the internet. Alex Friedman the owner of Computer Gurus does all service calls and he came out right away. He quickly was able to fix my router. I don't understand routers and stuff but he new exactly what to do. He got me back on line and said, "my router wireless was unsecured". He set up my router so it would be secured, all within the same hour!
