At the beginning of the contract they said the basement had previously flooded and there was a mold problem. They told us what they did to fix the problem so we agreed to go ahead and buy. We moved in and have found several solid surface items. They give you a notice that you have until 10 days after you closed to get the list in. I called the superintendent and asked him when I needed to have the things turned in by. He told me a date that conflicted with what the paper said. I tried to go by what their paper said that included things like chips in the marble sink, scratches on the windows, a crack in the shower, and a crack in our master bath tub. I turned in the list and their customer service guy called me to set up an appointment to go over the items. He came over to our house and spent 4 hours going through the list and inspecting the items. He decided what really needed to be fixed and scheduled three days for the contractors to come out and fix the problems. About a week later we got a letter from the CEO saying that they weren't going to fix any of the items because we got our list in too late. We asked them why they didn't tell us in the beginning when we turned in our list and why they waited a month to tell us this. They couldn't answer that question. In the ROC guidelines it says you have 10 days after you move in to turn the list in. I turned in the list a week after we moved in and basically they are claiming we missed the deadlines by 10 hours. We really didn't miss it at all because I turned it in after a week.
