My husband and I (both 75 years old) were blessed to have a son that offered to pay for a pool service for our pool, plus his own. For a long time, all went well, until I noticed our pool was not getting cleaned. I texted Matt to please do a back wash as my husband and I had just bought a new Zodiac pool cleaner because so much dirt needed to be disposed of. He did not do as I had asked. By next service date, end of May, which brought us into a new billing cycle, our pool was filthy and with yellow algae. I sent Matt a text again, to please back wash. No reply. My son, later that regular service day, received a text from Matt stating that he could no longer service our pools. After Matt had been paid for the month of May, and always on time by my son, he quit on us. No reason, just quit. Matt knew he was going to quit well ahead of the end of May because there was absolutely no chlorine in our pool as was determined by a reputable pool company for which we immediately went there upon learning that Apollo Pools would no longer service our pool. With analysis of our pool water, 0 chlorine, p.h. 8, alkalinity 150, conditioner 110. To get started, my 75 year old husband, had to put in 6 gallons of chlorine and 6 bags of shock, run the pump 24 hours. There was no way our pool could have been that bad had chlorine religiously been put in. Our pool, no thanks to Matt, left us with a mess. As I see it, Matt was totally dishonest in coming for the month of May, knowing full well he was quitting plus, taking my son’s money for the month of May, and not taking care of either pools, that is my son’s and ours. Again, it’s not that I am upset for Matt not wanting to do our pools any longer, but extremely disappointed that he took our son’s money for both pools and did NOT take care of either pool for which he had been paid. Disappointed customer here.

Poor service in general. You pay on 1st of the month; hopefully Matt shows during those coming weeks. He'll be in and out in minutes. Perhaps your pool gets swept that week, but don't count it.

Overcharges drastically for small repairs. Prepaid for service and won’t refund months because I disputed the overcharged repairs. Also doesn’t clean pool well. Chemicals weren’t maintained

The job was done well and he provided some help diagnosing an electrical problem that I though was related to pump but was a unrelated wiring problem instead.

I think he did a pretty below average job. I just wouldn't recommend them. There are a lot better services out in the valley.

I called Apollo and told Matt who answered the phone what the problem was. He came out within two hours and fixed the problem which was a stuck pump plunger. When I asked him how much, he said he was in the area and as a goodwill gesture would appreciate my business in the future. It was clearly an offer I could not refuse, and he will certainly be doing all the work on our pool in the future including regular check-ups.

Matt reworked the plumbing on the filter system at the house we recently
purchased at Granite Reef and Chaparral in Scottsdale. I had been
maintaining the pool since we purchased in June and had mixed results.
The pool was hazy and at times you could not see the bottom drain. I new
it needed some system maintenance including a new backwash valve and
since Matt had been doing a great job for several months on our Coronado
house pool I asked him to start servicing the Highland house pool as
well. He did a great job in repairing the plumbing and installed a new
backwash valve. He also replaced a number of fittings that were cracked
and causing the system to suck air. In one week the pool went from a
hazy white to clear. Mat is very reliable and easy to work with and I
highly recommend him.

Right after closing on a home, we called Matt to give us an estimate to make repairs to the pool equipment. He came over that very day, gave the estimate on the spot and even put some chlorine in the pool for us as the pool was quite low on it. He made the needed repairs to the equipment and also performed pool service for us for a month while we were getting settled. We were very happy with his work. In addition to being prompt and reliable he is also a really nice guy and we highly recommend him.

I have been using Apollo Pool Service and Repair for several years to maintain my pool. They visit every month once a week for maintenance check and I pay $85 for this service. They are technically very competent, as they are aware what chemicals to use. For example, sometime around July the pool water turns green due to temperature, if not maintained appropriately. I like their services and will continue to use the same in future.

Matt is the most responsive, reliable and efficient pool maintenance person I've ever had. In fact in 20 years of owning a pool, I think he's the ONLY responsive, reliable and efficient pool maintenance person I've ever had. I had struggled with a green pool and many many repair people for over 6 months, when I finally found Matt. He came in, figured out the problem and fixed it in a reasonable amount of time. He shows up when he says he's going to show up for appointments. He also does our on going maintenance, and is as reliable as a swiss clock. Recently, he even noticed that our crawler wasn't working properly and explained that it needed to be rebuilt. He rebuilt it and it is back to working perfectly. This is the first year EVER that my pool was not green over the 4th of July weekend. Matt makes my pool a worry-free asset, instead of one more chore to deal with.
