I had John come out to evaluate our 21yr old tile roof to determine if we needed it replaced or if some maintenance could see us through another few years. He did a complete evaluation including taking pictures of the problem area and gave me a very complete explanation/estimate of what needed to be done. We ended up needing repairs in 2 areas of our tile roof and on our 2 flat patio roofs, as well as replacing some rotted wood. John kept me informed as to when he would begin work and after he started what he was finding as he went along, and options as needed. He even sanded and repainted the trim along the back of our house as part of the repair to the patio roofs - very thorough & high quality work! I'm very pleased with the end result and will bring him back for yearly inspections!

John responded quickly after the storm repair for which I called him. The cost was reasonable and the work done quickly and correctly. I have used John on a least 3 occasions now and have received great work at a good cost. I highly recommend John and ARR.

John found the leak at the skylight. He repaired the roof, corrected errors made by an earlier roofer and replaced the skylight. In the other area he removed the tiles, repaired the underlayment, found and replaced corner tiles and used cement to ensure they stayed in place. I have been using John since the '90s and remain very satisfied with his work. You won't go wrong choosing him.

Excellent. John performed a thorough inspection of the problem area of the roof, and described in detail his analysis. He performed the work timely and efficiently, and would appear to have covered the bases. We won't know for sure until the monsoon if the repairs worked, but I have a high degree of confidence that the problem has been solved.

John provided a reasonable estimate and thorough explanation of the job that would be performed. He also showed me pictures of the issue. He kept his word and showed up to do the job when he said he would. I am pleased with the service he provided and the honesty. I will definitely refer John and keep him in mind to look at the roof when purchasing a new home.

Went very well. Called for leak in garage, they responded in timely manner and work seems to hold up as it has rained multiple times since the repair. No leaks have been found since. They were very professional and helpful answering questions. Was honest and fair with pricing and suggestions. Would rehire and recommend for roofing needs.

John came for an initial visit. After looking at the issue, he said it would cost between $600 and $1,600 to repair. I asked what would cause such a wide variation in price. John would not give details....did not want to be held to ‘time and materials’. In desperation, I accepted the wide range. John and his assistant arrived one day and disassembled the tiles. It took a full day to test some hypotheses and arrive at a conclusion on what was causing the leak. They put a temporary fix. With my roof torn apart, John informed me that the job would cost $2,200 without any explanation on what caused the $600 increase above the high end of the previous range. He came back two or three more times over a 6 week period to test and seal. No more than an hour per visit. On Dec 5th he spent about 4 hours reassembling the roof. He gave his final bill of $1,800 attempting to make my wife feel good that it was $400 less than what he told us (when the roof was torn apart). Also, be ready for long explanations on his hypotheses on what is causing your problem. My recommendation: take the time to get a competitive quote. I believe the final bill was more related to the value of my house than the value of the work. Buyer beware.

I'm sorry [Member Name Removed] feels this way. The 6 weeks he refers to was due to waiting for another heavy rain which was explained to him. The area of leakage was in a complex area & I wanted to make sure the problem areas were resolved. The cost difference was because I had to go into the wall. I decided to go into smaller areas vs taking apart the whole section which I explained to his wife that this would save him not only the $400 from me but would be less expensive for the stucco guy to repair. His wife asked me to call him to explain which I did but, mail box was full. Tried next day but went to voicemail - left message to return call when he had a chance but no response. Text messaged him for email address to send paperwork and got just that. I'm sure not happy with the review but as always I kept everyone informed on every step of repair.Greg F.

John and his team were outstanding. Got here and got the job done in no time. Fixed 4 tiles that I could not see that needed repaired, as well as the broken tile I had called about. Very helpful and fair priced. Would recommend John without hesitation.

Once I reached John he promised to call back to arrange a visit/estimate, but a week passed and no call came. After I called him again he eventually did come out, and while I have no doubt he knows roofing thoroughly, after diagnosing the issue he basically dismissed the problem ('just put a bucket under it until you remodel'), then said he doesn't do shingle roofs anymore anyhow. He could have mentioned that on the phone. He then told me to call him later and he'd give me the name of someone who might do it -- not that he actually was recommending the guy, mind you. I did get a name from him, but couldn't track down any information so decided to go with an established local company instead.

I had a leak into my garage, and needed a limited section repaired -- I am planning a major redo of the house and garage in the next year, but due to the specific location (and a brand new car), really needed this done before the summer rains start.

John stayed in touch with me and promptly arrived to inspect my roof. He walked the whole roof and found very little wrong, a few missing tiles. I did need a repair to one area but his ladder would not reach so he could not complete the work. However, he told me exactly what was wrong and how much it should cost to complete the work so no one could over charge me. Great experience. I'd always start with John in the future. Honest.

WOW! WOW! WOW! Although John didn't perform services for me, if I ever needed a roof repair, he would be my first call! My roof is a really high pitch, which makes it extra challenging. Not all companies are prepared or equipped to replace my roof. When I called John to come do an estimate, he warned me that he probably wouldn't be able to do my roof redo because of the pitch. But he told me he would come by and take a look just to be sure. Within 24 hours, John was here with another employee and he told me right off the bat that he wouldn't be able to do my roof. I really appreciate his honesty. However, more that than, John and his employee stayed with me for about 30 minutes (in the 110 heat!) and showed me all of the potential issues I might have in roof replacement. He advised me on what I should expect and gave me some really valuable insight as to what I should get and what to be cautious of. He talked to me about air flow and even gave me some websites to make sure that when I do have my roof replaced, they do it right! He didn't even have to come by, let alone stand outside sweating while talking to me and teaching me. But he did. And THAT is customer service. I would use American Roof Repair in the future for sure!

I had the pleasure of working with John Loker. John was punctual, very knowledgeable about the roofing trade and very honest. John actually listened to what I wanted and did his best to give me a good price for the services and excellent professional advice. I would highly recommend this company. Personally I would not consider using anyone but American Roof Repair for my roofing needs. They are an excellent company with good prices, good people, and good ethics. What more could you ask for?

Repair estimate quoted: $ 600.00-$ 1,000.00, but found additional hidden problems/damage after the roof tiles were removed. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, I am pleased with the start to finish roof repair process and would use this company again for future roof repairs. I plan on using him for my yearly inspection, as based on what I have seen so far, I feel John could take care of my roof effectively and at reasonable cost.
