They keep jacking up the costs to unreasonable levels. Got sick of it. In order to cancel service, I started with Nicole, then was put on hold for approx. 13 minutes, then connected to the cancellation department to speak with Sam (who appeared to me to clearly be one who is compensated for retaining business. When I made clear with Sam that I would not continue service under any circumstances my call was disconnected. Called back to start the process over again. Spoke with a Ms. Clintay (sp?) tho needed to transfer me to someone else (a Mr. Tracy) who demanded to know whether I was moving or not. I indicated that I simply wanted to terminate service, which he refused to do because I wouldn't indicate whether I was moving. He then transferred me to a Mr. Terrell, who indicated that they would, in fact, not only disconnect my service but that my equipment (which I thought I owned) would no longer function (i.e., that the alarm, even though no longer monitored by ADT, would not function -- no siren, no nothing). All of this further reinforced my decision to terminate my 20-year relationship with ADT. I have purchased SimpliSafe, whose ongoing monitoring service is about 1/3 the cost of ADT. And I am very pleased with that decision.
