James Williamson Baillie

Back in December 2024 I requested Roofers get in contact to give bids on doing roof repair at 517 N Grant Ave. In Odessa, Texas. Worked with Elevate Roofing Co., Baeza Construction, Schmitt Exteriors, and DADS Home Improvements. Either called or came by some gave bids some did not. This may be because it was close to Christmas and the weather turned bad. Several agreed to call back in January or February when the weather was better. James Baillie Painting called and made an appointment to look at the roof and mention that he had called in December. He did come by and gave an estimate. I did Accepted (see contract attached). Also, I paid him Deposit of $7,000 and a final Amount of $15,338.50 for a Total of $22,338.50 for a New Roof. Which was installed on or before the 21 March 2025. Everything seemed find until the next rainstorm. The roof leaked or more like it flooded inside. I did contact James Baillie and his brother William Baillie. The did come by and explained what the cause might have been. This went on for several weeks. I was finally able to get on the roof with some help and took pictures. The roof is no longer flat but has raised ridges, bubbles, gaps, and seams that appear to be coming up. Had photos taken before, during construction, completion and after rain. Also, inside building where the leak has ruined inventory, floor (coming up) and ceil damage. Unable to get any resolution in fixing the roof correctly. We were even told that the material used was not the best quality.

Excellent work! Fast! Very courteous. No payment required until work was done to our satisfaction. I’m super picky, so there were a few minor things on cleanup and putting our things back that weren’t 100%, but I would still hire them again in a heartbeat.

James was very pleasant. He did what he said he would do and so many places do not. He painted my house at good time and finish in a good time. He is a hard working and does a great job. The finished job looks great. It makes my house look like a new house. He was good about keeping the gate shut while I was home so my little dog did not get out. I went out with my dog, but I thought this to be respectful on peoples animals. I would highly recommend James. I have never had such good service with construction people and them doing what they said they would do. It was refreshing and a positive experience.

James was fast, courteous, and friendly. He responded to my messages quickly and answered all of my questions.
