They do sub contract out but if we have a problem with their sub contractors I can go back to Home Depot and they will make sure it's fixed. I have had that experience with my couple of different things one with my blinds as they were mis-measured by their measuring guys and I went back to them and said that it doesn't work and they came out and looked at it and said that's not going to get it. They had arguments with the blinds people and I didn't have to do it. They handled that so well so since then I bought carpets from them twice. I just took some carpets and it flooded the bathroom and had to have the carpets replaced. They came out and it was fine and it was great. I went out there and told what had happened and they said I need very minimal amount of carpet and they sold me pretty much least expensive instead of trying to sell me their most expensive products and said it should work right in a closet and they were very helpful. I never really had any issues with them since I started using them. They had A's on Angie's List so I started using them. I also used them to remodel a bathroom last year. Their pricing is not least expensive. You can do it yourself because of the stuff there and you can get it at a much more reasonable prices in some other places but if you can't do the work yourself you are stuck and you are going to better of paying a little more for the materials because I don't think they are sub contracted. I have used other places and I find Home Deport sub contractors superior to other sub contractors even though their materials were less expensive than home Depot. When I had problem with the blinds I called them and they were very concerned and sent somebody out to re measure it and said I was right as they didn't measure it right. I haven't had any issues with the punctuality as they called me and told me they are going to come and give me the window and show up the window that they say they are going to. I live in a weird area as it is kind of away from the town.

I tried to use one of Home Depots contractors for the installation of wood blinds. He was difficult to reach and cancelled two appointments, which was inconvenient, since the installation was at a rental unit. It was a wasted two hour round trip for me for each cancellation. Also, after talking with him, the installation was going to cost more because of the metal and masonry window frame. This pricing problem may have been an error on the part of the person in the store who estimated the job, but in any case, between the no shows and the higher price, I cancelled the work and did it myself.
