The wood was removed and block wall was laid. The block wall was done well. Work was slow but not an issue, usually he arrived within 2 hours of stated start time. One person did all the work ,so I made a point of being present in case of liability issues. Though it was not stated in the work contract, I assumed he would remove the old wood from the work sight. He requested payment and said he would return with a truck to remove the old wood ties. That was a lie, he never returned. He even called later in the day to say he was on his way to pick up the wood. After a couple of days I removed the wood myself. My impression was: the work was performed professionally and looked good. However the part where I was stiffed on the old wood removal was pretty juvenile by the contractor.
