There were a multitude of problems and concerns: He was continually late without notification He asked for a partial payment so he could bring professional help and brought his teenage son and friend. He let the boys work unsupervised and they ruined one bag of grout and sealer. Some of their work had to be redone. He made some design changes in both bathroom and did not tell us until he had already started doing it Every tile that was cut and installed is chipped. Tile was not installed evenly and is not flush Glass block in master bath was not properly installed and grouted and water has leaked through and cracked the grout, and leaked on the floor. Mr. Carter did respond to our call about this and came out and patched over the grout at the base of the block wall. Master shower grout does not dry for at least 4 days after the shower is used Efforts to have Mr. Carter repair the work have been unsuccessful. He did come out and look at the chipped tile and indicated that we approved the chipped tile to be cut and installed that way. He also said that the problem was that the tile was made in Mexico and that that kind of tile was cheaply made and prone to chipping. At a visit to the tile company, we were shown that the tile could be cut without chipping. Although he indicated that he would keep trying to find a way to make it look better, a subsequent visit resulted in his telling us that there was nothing that could be done and/or nothing that he would do to try to find a solution. Four months after the work was done in the master bathroom, we noticed that sections of the floor and wall areas were not drying out after showers were taken. It actually took nearly four days for the grout to get completely dry. Another visit by Mr. Carter resulted in his saying that the problem was with the sealer in the grout and that we should get someone from the company that makes the sealer to come out and look at it. Since most of the grout does dry, this seems like an invalid conclusion on his part. We did contact the company and they indicated that they have never had a complaint and that the problem was most likely because the grout used in some of the areas was improperly mixed with the sealer. Mr. Carter indicated also that this was not his problem and that he would do nothing to fix it.
