DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT IN HOME SERVICES for your remodeling projects. In January of this year we began a kitchen remodeling project. We decided to use Home Depot for the project because we were told that they would manage all aspects of the project and stand behind the work of their individual contractors. The initial refacing of the cabinets went well except for a couple doors which were put on opening the wrong way and some missing molding. The doors were corrected. The appliances were delivered and installed with no problems. When the tech came to measure for the countertops, we were told that the new counters would be approx. ¼ inch higher than the old ones. This was not a problem. However, when the countertops were installed they were actually 1 1/2 inches higher that the old ones. This left the stove and dishwasher looking like they were sitting in a hole. When HD was informed of the problem, they promised to fix it. The tech came out and fixed the problem with the dishwasher but was not prepared to do the stove. Now three months after starting this project, we still do not have resolution on the stove and missing molding. We are quite disappointed in HD’s lack of response and would not recommend using their services as a result. The cabinets and the appliances look great, but the countertop problem has spoiled the whole project. Had HD delivered on their promises we would have given them a good recommendation, but lack of followup has soured us on their services. Siding warped less than a month after installation. Job still in finished. Debris on job site. Local representatives unresponsive.

Aside from being slow (way outside what the contract time frame) it was going ok. But now that the siding and all the trim is up they tell me oh, by the way we can't get shutters in your color. They couldn't get shutters in my alternative color either. If I had known I couldn't get matching shutters I would have gone with a different color scheme. My options at this point are to go with a color that doesn't match or no shutters. I'm probably going to have to go with no shutters and have the house look sort of stark and unfinished. I hope not all the Home Depots are like this because I have done business with them in other areas for years and been very happy. But this is awful and it's my house and I'm totally stuck. Do not use this company in my area.

Initially, one of the toilets was leaking and I called them. They responded very professionally, they said they'll send somebody out. But, I was thinking, "Oh God, what a problem. We've got to get a new toilet." When things are new, they don't necessarily operate in perfect condition. But let it go for a period of time and then they seem to heal themselves. So now, mine is working fine. My husband sometimes says, "Well, it still leaks occasionally," but it's so little that I don't want to go through all the hassle of getting a new toilet and all that.

When I stopped at Home Depot my intent was to get items to replace my kitchen faucet and to price flooring for an upcoming remodel. Never having done a faucet replacement I asked a passing employee where I might find a couple parts I needed. I don't think it was his area and he appeared annoyed at being stopped. However, he indicated with a jerk of his head I should follow him. He handed me one of the items and started to walk away. I asked were Id find the other item and he barked and waved his hand at me and said it was right behind me. He then speed away. I stood there for several minutes and tried to figure out what I needed. I choose to leave without purchasing anything.

They are fantastic.  The guys are great and the installers are fantastic.  They do a good job and they are very professional.  They do the job right and if you see anything wrong then they correct it.  My husband saw something last night in one of the bedrooms so they are going to take that piece out and redo it.  They are really great.  The manager, the assistant manager and the people out there are just really terrific.  I will do business with them again.  The price is about the same as anybody else.  They are very good and excellent.             

THE MAN WHO HELPED ME IN HOME DEPOT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL. HE WAS EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. THE PROBLEM CAME FROM THE DELIVERY--SENT THE WRONG PALLET AND WE WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE IF THE SALESMAN HADN'T NOTICED THAT MY PALLET WAS STILL SITTING AROUND AFTER MY DELIVERY. HIS CALL SAVED THE DAY.
