Description of Work: came over to take a look at the project to give me a bid. After a reasonable amount of time passed without hearing back from him, I called and could only reach the answering machine. He never called me back. Very unprofessional.

Bid for job was very reasonable Work was performed great and in a timely manner. At completion payment was exactly what was initially quoted.... No surprises! PDF is a great company and Dave Fisher is honest and reliable.
Description of Work: PDF Builders did lots of overall projects around our cabin. Plumbing repair, wall repair, floors and cabinet stain, maintenance to fireplace and chimney, grading and moving rock on drive, deck repair. I am not sure there is anything he can't do!?

The trex decking was starting to pull apart on the surface. We knew it was an issue, and so showed the top of the deck to Dave and asked him if he could fix it. He investigated the source of the problem, and pointed out to us that there was not sufficient support under the deck. It was the lack of proper supporting structures that was causing the separation on top. He could see that it was a potential safety hazard, and recommended that he be allowed to address that issue before proceeding with the other projects we had in mind. He was also able to point out the weakness in the structure of the steps leading to the deck. Dave’s understanding of basic structural issues led to his proper assessment of our deck problems. He also knew that it would be less expensive in the long run to replace the wood on the side of the trex steps rather than to repair the old wood that existed. This required disassembling the trex steps, cutting the wood for the new steps, and reassembling the steps. Dave does not do painting, so I painted the wood, which was easy enough to do, and kept the cost of this project to a minimum. The shower we had in this very small house built in the 60’s was made from wall board that had been repaired and re-caulked one too many times. It was warped, and we were concerned that there could be leaking, which could lead to a mold problem and more costly repairs. As long as we were going to install a shower, we decided to replace the toilet and add new sink fixtures. We were fine with the pre-fabricated showers sold at Home Depot, and were fine with a low water use toilet also sold at Home Depot. Dave recommended we not go “cheap” on the sink faucets, as he advised it would be less costly in the long run to buy better quality faucets and spend less in repairs down the road. We took his advice. This project was not an easy project because of the older house with very narrow doors and confined working space. It was a tiny area for a shower as well. The shower we selected was barely going to fit. On the day of the installation I was on the deck listening to the work going on inside. I heard a saw and could only imagine what Dave was doing to make that shower fit. As it turned out there was a small lip on the back side of the shower where the two pieces came together. You can’t see the lip from the outside, and there was enough lip to allow a slight trimming of and frac14; inch without affecting the structural integrity of the shower, but which was necessary to trim if the shower was going to be able to fit in that tiny space. This was no easy task, and one that another handyman might not have been willing to undertake. Our new shower is beautiful, and fully functional. It was completed at the quoted price. The new toilet was installed along with the sink fixtures, and our bathroom was much improved. We had carpeting in the bathroom and carpeting in the rest of the house. It was time for a change. We knew generally what we wanted. Dave gave us some ideas, and suggestions as to the proper size tile to use in the bathroom. We went to Home Depot and picked out our tile. Dave took it from there. I asked if he could make an offset pattern, and he laid out a beautiful pattern with the space limitations and odd angles, seemingly not an issue at all for Dave. We had previously looked at the tile work he had completed in his own home, and had no doubt he could complete our small tiling project. We were pleased with the results.
Description of Work: There were several projects: reinforce structural support of outside deck; install new toilet, install shower, install sink fixtures, and install tile in bathroom.
