 + -1 moreMatt took the time to test the watch over a couple of days with a new battery and let me know that the was not the problem and that it was the watch itself was starting to wear out due to it's age. The watch was working and Matt only charged me a portion of what a new battery would cost and told me that the watch would work for a while but since it was worn out would not hold a full charge and eventually give out. He did not recommend replacing it or having it sent back to Seiko for repair due to the cost of the watch repair versus the value of the watch. Was quite honest and fair and will utilize him for all watch and clock services.
Description of Work: Had a Seiko kinetic watch which was not working correctly.

 + -1 moreMy friend, who is blind, needed a new battery for his "talking watch".....So, off to see Matt we went While Matt replaced the battery in my friend's watch, he cleaned my Rolex for me. Matt chared us $8 for replacing the battery on the "talking watch" and gave me back my cleaned Rolex and didn't charge me because he had it being cleaned while he replaced the battery in my friend's watch. Matt is just tremendous to deal with. Also, Matt has a bunch of "stuff"....watches, jewelry, etc. in his shop that he sells....even an O.J. Simpson watch which I've never seen before and don't plan on seeing again.

Description of Work: 4/7/11 Matt Hein, the owner of this shop had a write-up in the local Prescott paper regarding watch repair. This is waht generated us going to see Matt. Since we read the article, we have gone to Matt 3 different times with 3 different watches. Two of the watches were Rolex's, and one was an "off the shelf" type watch my wife uses for when she is working outside. Matt fixed my wife's clasp on her Rolex and also put a battery in her "off the shelf" watch. About a month ago, my wife's Rolex snapped a link on her band. The cost to repair this was $50. I then had problems with the snap on my Rolex and Matt fixed it. As you can tell, to spend $75 to have 2 Rolex's fixed, plus a battery for the "off the shelf" watch, is just about unheard of. Plus, Matt is really a nice person and a great person to deal with. Can't say enough good things about Matt and his workmanship AND HIS PRICES!
