BYRD ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION

The overall roof was poorly installed by another outfit some years ago and when it leaked Byrd was asked to repair it about 2years ago, which they did, but it did not hold. They were re-contacted and said the previous workmen involved did not do a proper repair and have since left the company (possibly fired). Byrd said they would correct the repair and re-warrant it for 2 years. I think we had gone beyond the warranty period to get this all corrected for free.  They did charge us about 400, but I wonder why they just didn't do it for free to improve customer relations. They did a good job this time with photos before and after, explained all they did with great detail.  I trust them now. The company management moved to one of their sons, and they seem on the ball now and willing to make sure their company's work is done right. 
WWe had another roofer with good reviews give an estimate and it would have been 2200 if we used them. Byrd did give us a great discount because their company did the previous poor repair.

Roof leaks after 1 year. Company appears to be out of business. Phone disconnected and website gone. Left messages before phone went out of service with no response.

Repeated disagreement with company over amount of deductible to be paid vs. amount received from insurance company (State Farm).  Wouldn't have mattered if work had held up.  After work completed, two leaks reappeared.  Company returned, fixed those.  Three visits have failed to solve simple asphalt roof shingle repair on carport (will now call another company to fix this).
14Poor quality of work, fixed area of roof not involved in windstorm, shingles continue to peel off in occasional 40mph gust.  Can see why this business is not BBB approved...should have checked Angie's list first for a roofer.

After over two weeks of putting on roof, it still leaked in kitchen, laundry room and garage.  I have asked the representative to please ask roofers to take out old boards and replace with new ones then attach shingles over the garage.  But the roofers just placed new shingles over rotten old boards.  And after a year their is also a leak in the kitchen area.  Very upset over this.

I have special needs because I live in an A frame home. It was a little hairy at times but they did the job. They did it well and they did it at an extremely good price.

The repairs we needed were some maintenance issues found on a home inspection - it was a small job that a lot of roofing companies don't want to mess with.  Byrd did respond promptly to our request, their estimator was knowledgable, price was fair.  Our only complaint is that they worked this small job in between other jobs and didn't show up as scheduled, but they did show up the next day and the repairs were double checked and completed to our satisfaction.

They arrived on time, worked fast and efficiently and even painted all the pipes and vents on the roof to match the new roof color! We were very pleased with the entire experience, from the sales representative, the roof inspected, the way professional way they dealt with our insurance company, to the end result of a new roof!
