During the later part of the season, the owner would not mow my lawn on a weekly basis but would miss one week a month fairly often. His explanation was that he was "too busy" to get to my yard on a weekly basis as was our "contract" stipulated.
I, in turn, would pay only for the weeks that my lawn was cared for and explained to him that I was not going to pay for services not performed. He said that "I didn't understand how busy he was and he just couldn't get to my lawn on a weekly basis."
He actually expected me to pay for services not performed and when I refused, he cancelled our contract!

"[Members Name] the real story is that in the fall of the year when the leaves are falling it takes us longer at each account to maintain the property because of the extra work involved. We may have only been to your house three times in a month but we were there longer each time compared to the summer. Please tell the whole story. After 9 years I think it is time to let this go. We currently have 160 customer that we maintain weekly, I think we are doing something right."
