We have gravel yards but many small pocket gardens with roses, vines, tropical plants, herbs and vegetables. We also have many fruit trees so we need a knowledgeable company. We do our own rose pruning and fertilizing and hire a citrus specialist to maintain the trees, but other than that, the landscape workers do everything else.
We use William Jenkins for our regular landscape service every two weeks. They send three men who work diligently and perform any tasks we request including planting, fertilizing, moving large landscape rocks, taking down old trellises and arbors and hauling. They take pride in their work, ringing the doorbell when they arrive (always on time) and ask what we would like done. They are the first landscape group that doesn't blow leaf debris into the neighbor's yard or under the garage door. They also clean up any leaves that blow into the pool. The company is a little more costly than others but well worth the worry-free work.
We also asked that they send an irrigation technician. He came within a couple of days of our request. He checked each line, reset timers, replaced heads and took the time to answer many questions. We have a much better understanding of the irrigation system because of his explanations.
"Member called our office on 8/27/12, he asked for a repair and was given our hourly rate which is $70 for the first 1/2 hour and $70 every hour thereafter. He did not request an estimate, which is free. He wanted someone to come out and do the repair. Our company policy is to bill the customer so that our field employees do not collect any money. On 8/28/12 the technician was out to check and repair Member's system and was there from 12:25pm - 1:55pm and at that time he turned on the controller and ran it through the cycles 2x with the Member and found no problem. He also checked the irrigation and lighting systems, replaced bulbs, adjusted sprinklers, and ran drip to plant. It had been 10 days from the date that the repair was completed when Member emailed us on 9/6/12 @ 5:05pm to inform us that his timer wasn't working. Per email: I used your service and someone came out Tuesday afternoon. My timer is not working properly and won’t come on automatically. The gentleman that came out was efficient and checked out the Rain Dial timer. He could not find anything wrong with it, tightened some wires, tested and it worked. I thought he had fixed it. That evening and the next day the sprinklers came on automatically, however Thursday, Friday and today (Saturday) it has not come on as planned. I’m not sure what is wrong but would like someone to find the problem. Please call me at ***-***-****. Thanks! Member Phoenix, 85083 On 9/7/12 our office called his phone and also emailed him to set up a time for the technician to return. No call or email was returned by Member. I feel that Member does not want to pay his bill and once he received the bill he then contacted us through email to repair his controller, which it seems he already had a different contractor come out to repair, according to his comment. William T. Jenkins, Inc. completed the requested work and would have returned to resolve any issues if Member would have fairly given us the opportunity to do so. The comment posted by Member is unfair and undeserving."
I have found William T Jenkins to be quick to respond in an emergency and extremely professional. I highly recommend this company.
