Excellent. Tawn was very honest, very knowledgeable, high integrity and paid attention to all the details. Very analytical. Took the time to explain what needed to be done or couldn't be done based on what I wanted. The shower and tile work is beautiful! Many comments on the beautiful work and attention to detail! Wonderful to work with!
Description of Work: Demolish and rebuild master shower. Rebuilt shower pan, fixed plumbing, drywall and tiled shower with natural stone.

Description of Work: They never responded at all. I thought by going thru Angies list I would at the very least be able to get a response even if we mutually decided that company was not a good fit for what I needed, but to not even respond was not what I expected.

This was a message sent to me via Angie's List which I wasn't alerted to and just happened to find today while checking in. I was certain A.L. informed us when a message was sent. That didn't happen. I don't get many calls (or work) from Angie's List but when I do, I've responded to and completed any job that I was hired to do with excellence as all of my reviews show. Besides not being alerted to a response on the site, the customer's phone message didn't leave a legible return phone number. I responded to their message on the site and offered an apology for not being able to get back to them. Customer: [removed member name] 2/5/2014 I am moving into a rental home and need to dog proof the outside right away. it is going to require making it so my little one can't get out by going under the fence and whatever else we find that needs to be cover. is this something you can do? I would need it done tomorrow.

We hired TM Porter to install a new door and a dog door. There were a couple of unexpected hiccups during the installation. The door I purchased did not match the original door size, the security door was put on incorrectly, and the door I purchased did not close properly. Tawn purchased the additional materials required and performed additional work to fix all of the issues with the purchased door. The door and finishing looked much better after the services were performed. Tawn left the workspace so clean that I did not have to do anything further to clean up from the project! We will be hiring TM Porter again to complete our bathroom renovation in the near future, as well as any other projects that come up around the house.

Tawn (TM Porter) has completed a number of projects for us. Tawn is detailed, meticulous and takes pride in what she does. When we have contracted with others, it always seems their work leaves something to be desired in the end. Not so with TM Porter. The quality of work is excellent. After completing several projects for them over the years I found them not only to be honest and easy to work with, but also became good friends with them in the process. I recently moved to Chandler Arizona and we still have contact on a personal level. (Always hoping that I come to my senses and move back home!) Any contractor who works for them should understand that they expect high quality work and are willing to pay for it as long as the "plan comes together" so to speak. If not, you WILL be back to make it right. I always understood this with them and performed for them as though they were my only customers in the world. Takes pride in his work and eager to make his customers happy. I was very picky about which marble tiles I wanted to use and he noted this by helping me sort through box after box until we found the ones that I approved of. Also, he arranged them on the floor and shower surround so that the nicest marble pieces were easily visible. Tawn has great opinions if you have any questions along the way as he has a lot of experience. We are VERY happy with his work! As long as you aren't in a hurry, I'd recommend hiring Tawn if you want the job done right the first time and ndash; especially if you want everyone that sees his work to comment on what a wonderful job our tile person did (and ask for his contact info for themselves)!

I'm always up for one of those including the hours spent on the floor picking through tile! I've used photos of their rooms for personal advertising to show examples of my tile work. I had an easy time working with them because I understand a homeowner who is very particular about the quality they receive for the dollars they spend. My goal was to get it right the first time for them so there was no reason to be called back. I believe that was achieved. This is a good family with good hearts. I did not actually speak to Tawn, but to her receptionist/assistant Margie. The experience was among the best I've had. Calls were returned right away and she was very patient with my tentative scheduling and continuous phone calls and questions. Whenever I need a project done in the future, I will definitely be calling T M Porter.
Description of Work: I was planning on needing a total bathroom renovation, but after the inspection was performed, I did not purchase the house.

Tawn Porter was recommended to us by a friend, and Tawn was recommended to that friend by another friend. AND NO WONDER! From the get-go, we found Tawn to be pleasant, competent, tidy, trustworthy, full of good ideas that improved our project, and a RAVING PERFECTIONIST down to the smallest detail. Tawn knows plumbing, wiring, tiling, carpentry - the works - so all aspects of the project come together better than if a number of different specialists was used. The only downside is that there is only ONE Tawn Porter. That means you'll probably have to wait a few weeks before your project can begin. THE QUALITY OF TAWN'S WORK IS WORTH ANY AMOUNT OF WAITING! Also, when Tawn is at work on YOUR project, it's like you are the only client in the world. There is NO RUSHING, IMPATIENCE or CORNER-CUTTING to get your job done so the next client's project can be started. WE WERE THRILLED WITH THE EXPERIENCE AND THE RESULTS!
Description of Work: TILED BATHROOM, INSTALLED NEW SINK, EXHAUST FAN, BATH ACCESSORIES and MORE. The basic task involved: removing the cheesy 60's vintage plastic fake tile, removing plaster around tub area down to the studs, replacing plaster with waterproof cement board (after insulating the outer wall), removing hot water baseboard heating unit, toilet, and old sink, preparing and painting walls above tile and ceiling, doing the MOST PRECISE TILING JOB I'VE EVER SEEN, installing new sink and new shower hardware, re-installing baseboard heating unit (with new exterior), installing towel racks, shelving, etc., installing 300 circumference exhaust fan, plus doing all associated wiring and switches. BONUS: Upgraded boiler plumbing so entire hot water heating system can be bled from one convenient location next to the boiler, works beautifully! NO AIR IN THE SYSTEM NOW, which is something I could never manage to accomplish via conventional bleeding of baseboard units all over the house.
