We met and I was given the requested quote at almost double - 8,900. as compared to 5k to 5,500. from the other 3 companies with whom I met for quotes on similar systems. He then tacked on some quasi "discounts" bringing the priced down to 6800.00 - still well over 1k more then the other companies. This, In addition to the fact that he was offering two less panels which would not have been adequate to heat a 450 s.f. pool, made the experience rather poor. He told me I would only need 7 panels but actually for a pool that size it requires about 9. Mathematically: 450 s.f. divided by 48 (12x4 for each panel) equals 9.3. So the minimum of 9 panels is required for a pool that size with 10 panels being ideal. He also told me that I "had" to have a booster pump installed, though that turned out to be untrue. We did a lot of research and talked to several people after that meeting so I am not basing this on trivial information or opinion. Michael was cordial and professional. However, I would compare the experience to dealing with a car salesman.

Mr. Buehrle came out to our house and gave us a quote on a solar water heater. His office was very fast to respond to my request for a quote. He called when he was on his way and arrived on time. He spent quite a bit of time with us and made sure all our questions were answered. He sent a follow up email within a day after the visit. He was very thorough with looking at our system and providing options. We decided to use a different contractor due to design and cost of the proposed system. There are a few different design options for solar water heaters and we selected one that was quite different than the one he proposed.
