Sound Landscaping

I contacted Scott to perform a large clean-up job, and to mow and trim the years for our residential rental property in Glendale, AZ. He was initially very responsive and I was very satisfied with the first job he did. I paid his invoice for over $600.00 within mins of its receipt. Things went down-hill very fast from there. When we initially spoke about the clean-up, I asked him to also begin a regular monthly yard service, re-seed the front and back yards with winter grass, and to fix some damaged sprinkler heads, leaks, etc. He did not add me to his route, nor did he send anyone out to examine the sprinkler leaks, re-seed, etc. I called him again and e-mailed him with gentle non-insistent reminders. Finally after 3 weeks he responded and said he was going to send some folks out. At that time I also reminded him that I wanted him to re-seed the front and back yards with winter grass and repair the sprinkler heads, leaks, etc. He called me one day the following week and said his guys were having trouble finding the sprinkler system timer and on/off valves. I told him they were in the front of the house in plain view right by the front door, etc. (This seemed odd to me, but I let it pass). He then contacted me to say that his guys had shattered the glass in the rear sliding glass door with a rock that was ejected by a lawnmower being operated by one of his helpers. He also intimated that somehow the damage was my fault because there were a few rocks in the grass in the back yard. I am a fair-minded man, so I advised him that he if would pay for the glass, we would pay for the installation or we would simply split the entire job 50/50 whichever he wanted. At this point Scott vanished into thin air. No response on the window repair, zip, nada. I followed up for another 5 days and then had my contractor repair the damage. Upon inspection, Scott never did begin the regular yard work, repair the sprinkler heads/leaks, or re-seed the front and rear yards. As of today’s date (10/10/2016) he has still not responded to text, voicemails, or e-mail messages. How in the heck Scott obtained a AAA grade on this page is beyond me. Use his service at your own risk.

They were awful. They had no clue what they were doing. This was the only time we have ever used a landscaping company. The guy did not l know what he was doing with plants. We had pencil cactus in our yard and he was not aware that if you cut one fluid comes out and it can burn your skin or your eyes.  He got it in his eyes and then he charged us twice the amount that he quoted us. We just wanted him out of our yard. The guys were wiping their hands and taking their shirts and wiping their eyes. My husband kept trying to tell them that stuff would burn. My husband ended up having to give him eye drops. My husband kept telling him he needed to go to the emergency room because he could not see.

This was a night mare and it was terrible. Based on his reviews that were all A’s and positive. I paid this guy 450 bucks for three months and he mowed my lawn once.  I went back in February and the grass was a foot long. I called him and he never answered and then I called him and left some voicemail and within half an hour this guy showed up and I use said get out a here. He knew I wasn’t here. This was my rental.   I was paying him 150 a month.

I was on a super tight deadline and Scott was 100% amazing about getting all the work done before photos were taken of the house. In only 3 days, we had a full-price offer on the house and the realtor noted that a large part of that was due to the amazing yard work Scott and his great crew did. 

This contractor (Scott Swedelius of Sound Landscaping) was referred to us by several neighbors. The owner (Scott) showed up to bid on the job the same day we called. Once we selected Sound Landscaping, they put us on their calendar for the very next day and showed up as scheduled and performed all services rendered and then some. So far I am pleased and have arranged for Sound Landscaping to handle the ongoing landscaping maintenance.

The service was fine. He was very good. He went above and beyond. He actually fixed a couple of things while he was doing the evaluation and did not charge extra for it. There were no additional charges on top of the $25 Big Deal. I think he came out about three or four weeks after I purchased the Big Deal because we had some miscommunications. I was so satisfied with his work that I hired him to do more work. He is in the process of doing the new work. There are several steps to it. There were miscommunications, but he did an excellent job with what he did. The evaluation price was excellent. I do not know what the charge is going to be for this work he is doing for me now.

Showed me how to use my sprinkler system! Made all necessary repairs, explained everything as he worked! Great job would use again and refer to friends.

Generous and patient are the words to describe Scott. Scott came by to evaluate my irrigation system overgrown by time. Although I chose to do the work on my own it was Scott who provided the inspiration. Thank you thank you thank you !

I am very happy with the service provided by Sound Landscaping.  The evaluation and the adjustment of issues with my sprinkler system were thorough.  I will use this company again in the future.

Scott and his assistant were professional and thorough.  It was obvious they have a lot of experience.  In addition to letting me know about the three areas that needed head replacement, when I asked if they could quote and then repair, the quote was so low I asked them to do the work.  They were able to do this on the spot, no waiting.  I could see when they dug out the three heads that it was a lot of work.  The pricing was very low and yet the work was perfect.  Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Well, the "review" consisted of walking around the front & back yards looking for "dry"  bushes & trees.  His comment...if the trees & bushes are green then, it must be working correctly.  I sh*^t you not!  That was the extent of the comprehensive review!  Save yourself the $25 & walk around your own yard. If the trees and bushes are green, wee, ...you just did a "comprehensive review"!

I just had a sprinkler tune up from Sound Landscaping and am extremely satisfied. They were enthusiastic and competent and I feel more confident now that my sprinklers are tuned up for the summer. I recommend them. 

We have used Scott for many different projects around our new property for the last two years. When we purchased this property, it had been abandoned and was quite overgrown. He and his crew were familiar faces for the first few months we lived here.

Our most recent project was having a tree which had (regrettably) died removed from the property. While Scott had been very busy from the recent Super Storms and was a bit delayed in responding to my call, he did respond in a reasonable amount of time, came by to give us a quote, scheduled a service date and price, and his people were here promptly on the agreed-upon day to remove the tree.



I will used Sound Landscaping for my yard needs for as long as Scott is around. He is a kind and personable man who does quality work at a reasonable price. I would recommend him any time.

It went great -- they showed up, went right to work and did a good job.  My patio is small but looks better than it has in a very long time.  I plan to use them monthly to keep it up.
