Over the phone the quote was almost half what it was when the salesman came to the home. The amount changed when he was in my home. That was strange. Then after the contract was written up and signed, Rapid Blinds altered the contract. They changed the amount and put in a different amount and then said we were bound by the contract. That is fraud. When we asked to cancel, they refused. once bullied into accepting shutters, they promised other services and they were not performed. Terrible customer relations, strong ethical issues. Do NOT use them, Please.

Everything was great from the first phone call to the salesperson and the final installation.  The installer was professional, courteous, and did a great job.

I did not receive the total blackout shades that I requested. Shades had space where light shines through which I explained at the time the order was taken. Valance in kitchen did not allow me to open the door all the way and with the small space available meant I would have to keep opening and closing the door to pass.  The next day, after thinking about it, I called the salesman to question the space and he told me it would be fine.  They promised to fix everything if I paid in full which I did the day of the install. They claimed I threatened them when, in fact, they sent me a form for a lien on my home.  I was told I would receive a refund for the valance, however, they then decided because I complained to the credit card company that I was not entitled to a refund.

By the way, I had given them the valance back because it didn?t fit.  After contract was closed, I was sent an e-mail telling me they were turning my contract over to their attorney and I would be responsible for all attorney fees.  Really?  I paid in full although I was not satisfied; they threatened me, not the other way around.  I even went to their office to try to work things out when I received the lien on my property and was told not to worry about the lien that it was their practice and promised everything would be fixed.  Later was told it was not up to the office help to promise anything and was up to the owner.

I did contact the Registrar of Contractors; however, the Representative told me everything was done correctly when he came out to the house.  That may have been, but I did not receive what I wanted which was to have total blackout shades so that no light would come through the windows.  I was told I should have known that was not possible. If I was supposed to know so much, maybe I should have done the job myself instead of hiring a professional. If they could not do what I requested, they had no right to accept the job and take money for a job they could not provide.  The owner did tell me he could fix the problem but it would be an additional cost but didn't know how much it would be until he figured it out.  Why would I want to pay anything additional when it should have been in the quote when I ordered the shades?

Also there was a backlog and they did not contact me to ask if I wanted to cancel until I contacted the credit card company and complained that I could not get a response from the company for a delivery date.  It was past the date I had agreed upon.  After they received a letter from the credit card company (I disputed the purchase because they would not respond to my calls for a delivery date) they denied I had called several times to find out about the delivery.  After the complaint to the credit card company they contacted me letting me know there was a backlog.  They refused to cancel the order because it was past the allowable cancelation time?how convenient.
While the Registrar of Contractor Representative was at the house with the salesman and owner, I told them I would be writing negative response to which the Representative stated, ?you?d better be careful? which I could not believe my ears.

Horrible experience and I regret ever letting them into my home.  I dealt with this company many years ago and considered them reputable and they did a great job and on time.  They did everything exactly as I requested.  The company today,  is not the reputable company I knew back then?I guess times have changed and people are more interested in making money than customer service.

Edit 4/7/15: I couldn't disagree more with the response to my review by this company. The Registrar did in fact come out to my home to examine the work that was done. They did hang the shades, but it was not what I ordered, which they now say is impossible. If it was never possible for this work to be done, why did they take my money in the first place?

Response from Rapid Blinds & Shutters LLC
"We tried everything we could for this customer. Per the customers request, the Registrar of Contractors did go out to inspect our work. It was determined that all shades were measured and installed properly and he even commented on how nice the finished product looked.Customer was asking for something that is not possible to do, however we offered several other options in an attempt to have customer satisfied - all suggestions were declined. We're sorry that we could not please this customer. We did try our best."

My questions were answered by the salesman and samples provided.I was told shutters would take 6-8 weeks and they took 8.  Not very rapid but worth the wait. The installer was quick and did an excellent job.  The shutters are gorgeous!I had 3 estimates and this was the lowest.
