Once the parts arrived, a time was scheduled and Mark arrived promptly. Mark finished the necessary installation and repairs on my wall mounted heater. Mark discussed what needed to be done. Mark suggested I purchase a flow kit descaler so I could easily clean out/descale my hot water heater on a yearly basis myself. Then Mark went through each step with me (waiting while I wrote myself instructions) so I could easily clean the unit each year.
I discussed with Mark a future kitchen project I want to have done. Mark explained to me what would needed to be done and quoted me an approximate price.
I will definitely use Mark and Quail Plumbing for all my future plumbing needs. The price was what Mark had quoted me originally and I am happy with the final results.
I had services provided on my rental house and scheduled the appointment when my renter told me we discovered a leak in the kitchen sink. Communication with Quail was great until the technician arrived. I never received a call once he showed up to discuss what the issue was or what the remedy would be much less the cost. Next communication I had was when I received a bill for $247.46 that showed I had a garbage disposal replaced.
My renter never complained of a non-working garbage disposal but merely of a leak at the connection ring. It would have been nice to hear from Quail and my renter that the garbage disposal was not working prior to it being replaced as I would have been giving the option to replace on my own at a later date.
I would not use quail again as I do not know if the garbage disposal was replaced at of convenience or if was indeed not working.
"We replaced the disposal because it was the source of the leak. Our plumbers are paid hourly and are non commissioned so that they are not motivated to up-sell our customers. We are sorry that there was a communication problem and offer a discount on a future service call from this client."
Fortunately, in the prior several months we had hired "Pillar to Post" to perform a complete home inspection identifying areas that a 14 year old home might benefit from some maintenance and minor improvements. One of the benefits of such a relationship with a qualified home inspector is their set of vetted trades people. For example; last month using one of their recommended contractors we were able to make minor repairs to our roof for 1/3 the cost of competing larger companies.
For our water heater I turned to Quail Plumbing as they were a recommended plumber by "Pillar to Post" and they did not disappoint. Within three hours a plumber was on site and replaced our unit within a few hours. The conscientious and thoughtful manner that the phone representative and the installer conducted themselves was in stark contrast to the installer's behavior and unit cost from another company that had replaced a prior water heater unit seven years earlier.
In summary: Rapid response to my call, less overall cost for the same equivalent water heater unit installed seven years ago, faster response to an urgent need, a drip pan that actually fit (instead of punching a hole in my wall), and a drain line from the drip pan suggested and installed at no additional cost to the exterior should the unit leak at a future date. I could not be more pleased and I will be calling on Quail Plumbing to help our future plumbing needs.
installed them on the unit 2 years ago during the flushing of the unit - however this company did not
inform me of the problem with the metals. Travis did a wonderful job - very professional - and the unit is ready to go. I appreciate Quail Plumbing.
be causing the problem - and found the loose wire connection. The fix was not time
consuming. I questioned him about my unit - he explained how it works and how to
take care of it. I will definitely call him to service the unit and fix some of the issues that
weren't quite right from the installation.
"The homeowner contacted us on 5/26/09 and scheduled work for 5/28/09. We were called out to finish plumbing that was started by another contractor. We were not asked to see the project ahead of time to get a material list or to give an estimate. When the homeowner contacted us, he did not relay what size of pipe or the type of pipe needed for the gas line. There are too many types and sizes of materials to stock on our vehicle, so it was not a matter of being unprepared. As a courtesy we did deduct one hour from the original invoice amount to accommodate material pick up. We have never hidden what we charge in parts, labor or equipment; we are honest and upfront. If the homeowner would have supplied his own materials we would have installed them. Quail Plumbing has always prided ourselves with offering competitive pricing. We have been family owned and operated for over 17 years and have an excellent rating with the BBB and Registrar of Contractors."
